THE EXPERIENCE
When you get to the London Eye the first thing you have to do is get tickets from the building to the side of it, if you have not prebooked and recieved your tickets through the post. The queues are not long and go down quickly so this is not a problem. From here there is a queue to get onto the eye which consists of one or two parts depending on how busy it is (which generally depends on the weather). There is a main queue and in busy times a queue to join the queue, so it can take anything from half a minute to half an hour or more. When you are on the London Eye the capsules are large with a big bench at the centre and hold twenty five people each. There are 32 capsules numbered 1-12 and 14-33 with no 13 for superstitious reasons. The capsules are mainly glass and very light and airy, and also feel 100% safe, as they do not rock. They do not feel claustrophobic and there is a help button should it be needed. When boarding the wheel does not stop unless someone disabled is embarking, in which case it will stop for their ease of access. Once at the top you can see for around 25 miles on a clear day (or so says their website:- I could not measure how far I could see, but it was a long way), and there is amazing panoramic views of London with sights including the big ben and houses of parliament, Buckingham palace and the Imax. The views are stunning however I have now been on the Eye three times and after one time it is not quite the same. It takes around 30 minutes per revolution and one flight is one revolution. Towards your end you have your photos taken and you can purchase these at £10 for a set with photo, keyring and fridge magnet or purchase them individually. There is a small overpriced gift shop offering merchandise however it sells things at above average prices and it has a poor selection. There are toilets in the ticket office as well as a small outdoor coffee shop.

All in all the London Eye is the world's largest observation wheel and offers amazing views, but when you have done it once, it's not the same a second time. I would highly reccomend giving it a go if you have never done it before though.
