London Heathrow is a massive airport and is the busiest international airport in the world. Its huge size brings both advantages and disadvantages.First there are currently four terminals, with Terminal One being for domestic flights, terminal two for European flights, terminal three for inter-continental flights and terminal four for British Airways and a number of other airlines. It is thus important before you set off for the airport to know which terminal you are flying from. Getting to the airport is relatively easy, you can take the tube, the Heathrow Express rail link -very expensive, a cab.mini car or the Airbus. There are shuttle buses operating between the different terminals.Secondly although there are a lot of car parking places, they are pretty expensive,so I prefer to use public transport to the airport. The terminals are all well equipped and have a wide range of cafes, pubs, fish and chips, burger places and up market eateries. There are book shops and a good range of duty free shops if you are flying to a destination outside Europe. I find the check in facilities none too impressive but I give high marks for the baggage retrieval, I find it is,on the average, much faster than at the ultra modern Kuala Lumpur International Airport. I also find customs and immigration services to be first rate. All in all, although not perfect, Heathrow still ranks in my eyes as a good airport.

Advantages: Easy to get to London from the airport (for those who don't drive) Disadvantages: The 47-mile walk to Immigration, plus the never-ending queue for us non-Europeans

Review of London Heathrow (LHR)
Advantages: We got from London Heathrow to Madrid and back safely and on time Disadvantages: British Airways codeshare; I'm sure that BA would have been somewhat better!
