If Heathrow is considered the flagship of the UK, then what limited standards we set in this country. The airport is badly laid out, badly sign posted, the toilets, albeit clean, are grotty and badly maintained. There are few seating areas, unless of course you want to eat. The shops are uninspiring, busy with too few operators and long queues. I have been to quite a few airports and I would not give Heathrow even three stars! Unfortunately, as BA have a monopoly on flights out of Scotland some of us have little choice but to use Heathrow.
