Ive been to heathrow so meny times i cant even count how meny,im always on holiday and we usally 70% of the time fly from heathrow.Im actually flying to mexico tomorrow morning but thats at gatwick. anyways...
Usually you have to be in Heathrow two hours before you fly for the check-in and if you havent got your tickets you can pick them up at the ticket desk with the airline your flying with and you details and they will give you your tickets
Im not really sure how good the faclities are for disabled people but when i go tomorrow ill have a look and then right in on here!!
Heathrow is a big airport and when you first go into heathrow if you have never been there before then it is quite difficult to get around. As i have been there so meny times i know my way around.
It has everything a basic airport needs it has lots of check-in desks and all of the places where you can exchange your money for different money,coffee places,bookshops, clothe shops, mcdonalds and resturants all the usuall stuff.
I found that heathrow is very easy to get around i sometimes have to go by myself to germany and me (being 14) can manage to get around without getting lost.
Heathrow is a very busy airport as it is one of the main ones in England so yes it is busy.
If you remember you forgot to pack something in your suit case e.g bikini there are plenty of places where you can buy them you have everything from game arcades to the bodyshop to mcdonalds to WHsmith so you can get everything you need wether its suntan lotion of if its a bikini of a book to read on the plane you can get it all here.
I found that the toliets are clean as well in this airport because some airports ive been to werent very clean but these were. You always see people running around heathrow picking up rubbish etc so its 99% clean.
There are plenty of places to sit in heathrow so you never really short of a seat. Where as when i was in Corfu i had 2 sit on the floor because there where only a few seats.
If you smoke no problem they have special areas wiv a few game machines and seats so you can smoke but not disturburb none smokers!!.
The parking for heathrow i find is good but it can be a nightmere because heathrow is so busy but we always manage to find somewere to park so its ok. You have to pay for you parking even if you only staying short stay but it only costs a few pounds.
If you decide you want to leave the car at heathrow while you go on holiday then they have the long stay car parks where you can leave your car there safe while your on holiday but it can be a bit pricey.!! I think when we went to Corfu we left our car in the long stay and it cost £47 for one week in the long stay car park which is ok but not something you want to spend your money on as soon as you get back from holiday!!
Also if your going to a far away country like i am tomorrow you should have injections before you go to protect you from any disises in that country!! If you have not had the injections if your going to somewere like Africa,Mexico,Goa etc then you can have these done in the airport!!
Every time ive been to Heathrow which is so meny times ive never had a flight delay so i found that very good!!
Also to get to Heathrow just go onto the M25 round London and you will sooner or later see the Heathrow airport terminals. (mind you the M25 is very long) :)
anyway i got to go pack the rest of my stuff for mexico tomorrow so ill when i get to the airport in the morning ill find some more stuff to add to this and then ill let you no!!

Heathrow is a grate airport i seriously recomend flying from there!!!!
