In my experiences of which there have been several, I find it a very pleasant large (450 rooms) hotel.
It is luxuriously furnished, the common areas are smart, the service top rate. The rooms are a good size and just about everything you want or need is in the room. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms satisfy the most discerning visitor and there is a nice touch by which they include a bathrobe with their logo on it for both of you. If you wish to take it/them with you, the price (I think) was about GBP70.00 each, which isn't too expensive these days for a quality product! Both heating and air conditioning work well and are adjustable.
Discounts are available for weekends and even better ones via the www. It is very centrally located, which is excellent for shopping and restaurants. Prices vary obviously, but in March they are from GBP149.00 per night for 2 people sharing.
Connections by bus are excellent, but the tube station is a bit of a walk (and not very safe at night), via an underground passageway underneath Hyde Park Corner. There is a taxi rank outside the Hotel and there never seems to be a shortage of taxis.
Speakers corner for a bit of fun on a Sunday, is only about 7 minutes walk away.
Oxford Street and Piccadilly are very close walking distance.
The restaurant “Windows Restaurant” and bar have the best views in London, as do most of the rooms on the upper floors.
There is a wonderful “Trader Vics” restaurant by the front entrance, which is well worth a visit.
Food is good, albeit pricey and the service is excellent. Meal for 2 c.GBP150.00.

Good place to starwatch at Wimbledon time. I once bumped into Jimmy Connors in the lift and Bjorn Borg was somewhere in reception - veterans' tournament I think.

Advantages: True five-star oasis of calm and comfort with a few tricks up its sleeve. Disadvantages: It would be somewhat churlish to nit-pick. Read the review!
