A sanctuary in the heart of London Advantages: Very central, well connected, good value, comfortable Disadvantages: none to speak of other than the rooms could be bigger ...London for work or play. The West End theatres are literally round the corner along with all the other central London famous sights. Needless to say transport links are good be it by bus, train, underground, foot or bicycle. Of course driving is not recommended! I found the concierge helpful and polite. The entrance seemed quite grand to me and you immediately felt transported out of the hussle and bussle and into a sanctuary of tranquility. The ... Top Dollar, bottom drawer Advantages: Location Disadvantages: Value, quality, customer service Top price, bottom drawer At £130, it was top price (okay it was pre-Christmas), but for a tiny double room with remnants of a leak from above (or was it streaks of nicotine from its previous smoking room days?). Only very slim people should share that room! The en-suite bathroom was tucked into the eaves and surely wasn't intended for use by anyone over 5'2" . If that was a "superior" room, I'd hate to see anything less. After a night out, the ... ...baguettes, no food was available after midnight. The day was kick-started at 8am by an over eager maid and again at 8.30am, shortly followed by probably the worst hotel breakfast I've ever not eaten. The surly receptionist wasn't in the slightest bit interested in our disapointment and as we took a cab to the recommended car park (Queens), I reflected on the shame that visitors to our great capital get rinsed like this every day. Sleeping Beauty Motel, London Advantages: Clean, staff polite Disadvantages: Area its located in Not too bad, but in my opinion, its not in such a great part of town. OK if you are parking in the car park then staying put in the hotel, no local sites to see, wouldnt want to be walking around this area after dark. Found it very noisey, the road that its located on is a very busy road and the noise from it is constant. By train, its not far to underground or overground stations. Food food food Advantages: Food Disadvantages: Not for families I have visited London on many occasions in recent years, and after I discovered this hotel, I knew that I had found the one I would always be staying in. It is such a great hotel, that serves all of my needs. The rooms are fantastic, just the right size. My room didnt have an en-suit bathroom, but to me it didnt really matter that much. The quality of service here was also brilliant and the staff should be comended. Great value hotel Advantages: Handy location, good rooms Disadvantages: Not really any I stayed at this Greenwich hotel this Christmas and was drawn to it because of its cheap price for quality rooms. I booked through hoteldirect.co.uk. The location of the hotel is excellent. Although the area around it is not very aesthetically pleasing, it is close to the O2 arena and a local retail park which was great for my holiday, yet it is far away from central London so not busy.The hotel is near the Blackwell Tunnel and I was anxious about ... ...was not the case. From the hotel you can see many great things such as the O2 and Canary Wharf, which produced some great shots on my camera. The staff were helpful but not intrusive on my visit.
