Review of Novotel London Euston, London by babajack

Advantages: Excellent location, very reasonably priced, high quality of service, cleanliness & efficiency. Easy to book online.
Disadvantages: Temperature control in room (we were very hot), drinks prices in bar a little steep even for central London.

...liking so we had to sleep with the window open as we could find no temperature control/air-con. Overall great stay . Very Hot
Review of Corus Hotel Hyde Park, London by Keynshamkeith

Advantages: good location & cheap for a 4 star hotel even if it is a bit rundown
Disadvantages: very small rooms, masively overheated, watch out for tricky pricing deals

When I look back at my stay in the hotel that is the thing that stands out my wife and I were in an "executive twin" which was one of the relatively fiew with air conditioning this mostly offset the fact that even in July the hotel was heateded like a sauna. A colleague was in much smaller room a "twin" he had no AC and suffered greatly from the heat rvrm eoyj yjr window open the few inches it would go. When I booked the room I opted for the executive ...
...but as it wasnt a huge difference in money decided it was a good bet to keep my wife in a good mood as we were in London for a special ocasion. In the process of booking the "executive rather than the normal twin I missed the small proint that said that this did not include Breakfast so ended up paying an extra £20 per day for breakfast. If it hadnt been for the heat and the iritation at the extra breakfast cost I would have enjoyed my stay at the ... Read review

The grand-ish Strand
Review of The Strand Palace Hotel, London by watkins11

Advantages: location, location, location!
Disadvantages: Work in progress

...had might as well make the most of our adventure and booked a show and stay theatre trip. After reading up on the choice of hotels, we opted for the 3 star Strand Palace as it a) looked pretty swanky from the photo, b) was only 5 minutes from the Adelphi where Joseph was playing c) was cheaper than some of the others AND included breakfast! Bargain. Our cab driver was extremely friendly, commended us on our hotel choice and quickly pointed out how ...
...cuts through the streets to get to the Thames bank quickly - oh yes, we had also booked a trip on the London Eye - which would save us a fortune in taxi fare. We were dropped off right at the huge glass frontage of the building and by this stage I was rather pleased with our choice of hotel. Lobby After climbing a few steps we found ourselves in a not so large lobby, which contained the concierge desk, 3 elevators with classy gold doors, ... Read review

Advantages: Minutes walk to Oxford Street, Tube & Hyde Park!
Disadvantages: Moody receptionists

...is a must try!!! The best Indian Restaurant! I heard its owned by Sir Michael Caine so its good! And prices are reasonable as well. There is also a breakfast room where you can get full breakfast which is open seven days a week and the best things is .... you will never guess what it is :) SAUSAGES!!! they have over 50 different kind of sausages from about 20 countries! can u imagine? So in temrs of food - there is a great variety to suit everybody's ...
...already mentioned - bar tenders are great! so is all the other catering and house keeping staff. As for receptionists... its ok but could be better. The problem is that they never smiled when we were there and were always in a rush and stressed out! The rooms are great! Clean and well furnished. There is a 24h room service as well for your convenience. Television, Internet, Hairdryer, Trouser Press etc. all this you should have in your room. I ... Read review

Big disappointment!
Review of Britannia International Hotel, London by kristinaclay

Advantages: Good location
Disadvantages: Poor standard

My husband and I planned a weekend away to London a few weeks back. Normally we'd stay either in Piccadily or Leicester Square but this time we thought we'd venture out a bit and try somewhere different. The Canary Wharf seemed a good choice as there were also a good selection of shops and restaurants there. We waited in the queue for 40mins before anyone could attend to us. By this time we were pretty fed up as we just wanted to relax and chill ...
...we have one? The room that we had booked (jacuzzi room) was not available but instead we could have a twin room. A twin room for a couple who've gone away on a romantic weekend together!! So, instead of upgrading us for their mistake they were downgrading us to a smaller room. Of course we kicked up a fuss! In the end they found us a double room on the 12th floor (after previously telling us there were no double rooms left!) and gave us free breakfast ... Read review
