Victoria Park Plaza Hotel, London It's More Than A Hotel! Advantages: Pleasant Staff, Good Customer Service, Nice Breakfast Disadvantages: Expensive The Victoria Park Plaza in London is an amazing hotel that has very comfortable, quality rooms and staff who are friendly and professional. The best thing about The Victoria Park Plaza is that it is in a prime position just two minutes from Victoria Station and an easy walk to some of London's main attractions. I found it perfect for shopping and buying souvenirs. There were also quite a number of restaurants close by and my mum who cannot walk far ... ...fresh and clean. The Victoria Park Plaza is excellent for business trips or short luxury breaks. The only thing I will say is that the walls were paper thin and you can hear what is going on in the next room. The man in the next room was a business man and he stayed up on his phone talking till about 3.0 clock which was really annoying because we couldn't sleep. Then when we woke up in the morning the man had the cheek to shout at us for talking. ... Swissotel - a good position for holidays and business Advantages: great position, good views, ladies wing Disadvantages: poor call staff, sometimes takes a while to get served drinks in busy period a lovely hotel, this hotel is actually very different from others i have been too. it is in a great position to easily reach the city and the Westend and also has great views over the river if you are on that side. It has a lovely purple bar making it modern but also incredibly comfy, the outdoor area is small but very pretty and does get the sun in the afternoon easily making you forget you are in london. the standard rooms arnt particulary large ... ...are to a very high standard with gorgeous bathrooms and very well looked after. Holiday Inn Regents Park Advantages: Central, package deals available Disadvantages: rooms small and food average ...nice bathroom, good bed, the Holiday Inn "menu of pillows" and so on. We ate in the restaurant, reasonably early and almost entirely alone! The food was edible but forgettable it could almost have been anything. For instance my wife had salmon and the sauce was overwhelming. Other than a long queue to check out the place was "fine". It is very clean, well maintained and convenient. Some of the best view in London... Advantages: A luxurious hotel in a fantastic position Disadvantages: very pricey ...when my grandparents were visiting London for their 80th birthdays. This was a lovely stay as my grandparents hadn't been to London in years and my grandfather was very keen to ride on the London eye whilst my grandmother was keen for me to find a hotel in which as she phrased it, 'that he will have to dig deep into his pockets for'. She was aiming for nothing less than luxury! melia white house hotel Advantages: central location Disadvantages: none ...and i decided on the melia white house as i thought it looked nice and was in a medium price range. The hotel is conveniently located as it is only about 3-5 minutes walk from the great portland street tube station which means that it is easy to get to other parts of london from the hotel. Also it is not far from regents park and london zoo is a 30 minute walk. We also walked to the camden market as it was only about 10-15 minutes walk from london ... ...get to from heathrow airport as you can take the tube and you 0only have to make one change of tube line. When we arrived at the hotel it looked exactly like it did on the website with the reception area looking grand and having marble counters. Check in was done quick and efficiently although i did have a slight problem understanding the member of staff as he was not english and sounded like he was french but he did speak good english.
