Swissotel - a good position for holidays and business

Advantages: great position, good views, ladies wing
Disadvantages: poor call staff, sometimes takes a while to get served drinks in busy period

a lovely hotel, this hotel is actually very different from others i have been too. it is in a great position to easily reach the city and the Westend and also has great views over the river if you are on that side. It has a lovely purple bar making it modern but also incredibly comfy, the outdoor area is small but very pretty and does get the sun in the afternoon easily making you forget you are in london. the standard rooms arnt particulary large ...
...are to a very high standard with gorgeous bathrooms and very well looked after. I think their brilliant idea for this year however is that they have introduced a ladies only wing - the rooms have full length mirrors, steam free mirrors in the bathrooms and other such things to make you feel more welcome. i think they have put a lot of though in to this and it make it a very good choice particularly for a lady business traveller. the one problem we ...

Some of the best view in London...

Advantages: A luxurious hotel in a fantastic position
Disadvantages: very pricey

...when my grandparents were visiting London for their 80th birthdays. This was a lovely stay as my grandparents hadn't been to London in years and my grandfather was very keen to ride on the London eye whilst my grandmother was keen for me to find a hotel in which as she phrased it, 'that he will have to dig deep into his pockets for'. She was aiming for nothing less than luxury! Obviously there are a huge number of hotels available in central London ...
...two rooms, including breakfast and London eye tickets at a special offer of £ 280 per room per night which for this particular hotel is very good. The hotel is centrally located on London's South Bank, the luxury 5 * London Marriott Hotel, County Hall is traditionally elegant. Breathtaking views overlooking Big Ben & the River Thames await you & the hotel amenities and first-class service are the envy of many hotels in London. *Our arrival & check ...

Review of London Marriott Hotel County Hall, London

A nice hotel in a good location.

Advantages: Nice comfortable hotel in a lovely location.
Disadvantages: Very expensive to eat inside the hotel, don't bother!

Although I have been to London a few times, my most recent visit would be the first time I would be staying in a hotel there, as I usually stayed with a friend just outside of London. Hotels in London don't come cheap with many hotels starting at around £130 per night, and going upwards from there! We decided to stay in London for 3 nights, which isn't long enough for me but it was proving to be too expensive finding somewhere half decent for 4 nights. ...
... We went down to London on the train, arriving at King's Cross then hopping onto the Piccadilly Line which runs straight to the hotel's nearest underground station, Gloucester Road. This was easily done even with my suitcase, although it's handy to have a man who can carry it up the stair's in some of the stations! The Marriott Kensington is just a 5 minute walk away from the Gloucester Road station, very handy and easy to get to. Gloucester Road ...

Home Base for Traveling with a Grandchild

Advantages: Comfortable, clean, pleasant ambience, elbow room
Disadvantages: Lacks many traditional hotel facilities and services, such as room service and baggage storage

...trip planner, I selected the New Linden, a small hotel straddling Bayswater and Notting Hill, not far north of Kensington Gardens. The location was handy for buses and the tube, easily facilitating our forays around and about London. In the end, that choice came down to space and price. I wanted a space that would provide both our grandson and us with an opportunity for privacy, and I wanted to do so without paying the usual London prices for a ...
...of our quad. The New Linden is listed on various hotel sites at 2, 3, or 4 stars. Take your pick. I venture to approximate 3 stars based on its lack of urban hotel facilities. In the final analysis, however, it’s the experience that counts. Based on our experience, we would happily return to this charming hotel. It combines convenience with value for money, and we left with happy memories. Who could ask for more? ...
