Excellent Choice!
Review of Royal Horseguards, London by richardsonjones

Advantages: Location, Customer Service
Disadvantages: Quoite pricey (but worth it)

As a regular visitor to London I'm often lucky enough to squeeze in an overnight's stay. Recently, whenever possible, I've tried to ensure that I stay here, as it it perfect for all of my requirements. Firstly, the hotel is perfectly located - just a few hundred metres from the Embankment underground station on the Bakerloo, Victoria, Circle and District Lines. The hotel is situated directly opposite the London Eye overlooking the Thames, and is ...
...etc. I've stayed in this hotel several times now, and (with just one exception which was quickly remedied) have always received impeccible levels of customer service. My last stay here was this weekend. My mum and I stayed in an executive twin room on teh 4th floor overlooking the Thames. On previous stays I've had less attractive views over the entrance to the hotel, although the standard of room has been the same. The room had two lovely soft ... Read review

Raw fish anyone???
Review of Great Eastern Hotel, London by JetRider

Advantages: excellent quality food, wide range of sushi
Disadvantages: a bit on the expensive side

...minute got back from The Great Eastern Hotel where I have just had the most amazing lunch. I ate in Miyabi, a Japanese sushi restaurant with work team for my birthday today.... The Great Eastern Hotel THERE IS ALREADY A REVIEW ON THE HOTEL SO THIS IS MORE A REVIEW ABOUT ITS RESTAURANT MIYABI but here are a few small details. The hotel is situated next to Liverpool Street Station on Liverpool Street itself in London (postcode EC2). The hotel is ...
...This restaurant is within the Great Eastern Hotel and is accessed through the hotel lobby. The restaurant is very small with only 8 tables all closely packed in to a small room, and a sushi "bar" with room for about 6 diners. It is a Conran restaurant and certainly doesn't disappoint. The ambience is very Japanese if a little chilly for those of us in little summer tops, with modern Japanese decor. As the room is so small there is a cosy and intimate ... Read review

A Quality Hotel at a Sensible Price
Review of Chamberlain Hotel, London by sbenbow

Advantages: Great for a quiet weekend break in London
Disadvantages: Can be too quiet if you are in London for the "night life"

...breakfast): http://www.benbow.org.uk/chamberlain.htm The Chamberlain is in the business district of London, so it is quiet at the weekends (and there are not many restaurants open). This was ideal for us, as we are light sleepers, and it meant a really good nights sleep. The tube is literally 60 seconds around the corner, so for daytrips and evening meals we were able to go out and about easily (even with my wife in high heels), and London was our ...
...The continental breakfast at The Chamberlain was really good too. A nice selection of items. The croissants and cinamon danish's were fresh, and there was a good selection of meat, cheeses, rolls, and toast. Although we checked out on Sunday morning, we were able to keep our bags at the hotel until Sunday evening. This was great, as it meant we didn't have to lug our suitcases all around London (and Harrods!). I would recommend the hotel to anyone, ... Read review

The Jurys
Review of Jurys Great Russell Street, London by slater2130

Advantages: Central and nice staff
Disadvantages: None

Lovely hotel in prime location in London. Perfect if you wish to be central to pretty much everything. Grt Russell street is light off the most hectic streets so acts as a bit of a retreat from the hussel and bussel. Wonderful service at the hotel and really try to look after their guests. On my first stay to the Jurys, i booked online, and through no fault of the hotel the booking had an error. So the General Manager kindly offered us a better ...
...for service. we also recieved a free up grade to an executive suite, which i have to say. Little details and touches make this a really nice place to stay. such as speaker in the bathroom from the TV and Radio system. NOthing nicer to have a soak in the bath with a little bit of music ... Location isn't everything
Review of Ambassadors Hotel, London by badongism

Advantages: Fantastic location, you're never far away from anything. Cheap.
Disadvantages: Rude staff, rooms in a state, out of date amenities, broken equipment.

I booked this room just as somewhere to put my head down for the night after a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I wanted somewhere cheap(ish) in Kensington so I could walk it and not venture onto the tube in the forbidden hours. I found it via www.hoteldirect.com and it cost me £70 for a double room for one night, including a continental breakfast. So, here's a review. LOCATION If you're going to the Albert Hall and you're on a budget, this hotel ...
...Road and probably around 10-15 minutes walking distance from the Albert Hall. There's a Tesco, a Waitrose and a Sainsburys nearby as well as a KFC and a small shopping centre, and it's on the circle line in zone 1, so you are well catered for. Also handy if you have children, since there's always something nearby to keep them entertained. THE STAFF Now I guess this could simply be a language barrier but I found the reception staff to be rather abrupt ... Read review
