For a luxury weekend in London
Advantages: Wonderful surroundings Disadvantages: Expensive if you have to pay full price
...to London!
She chose The Rembrandt Hotel which is situated in Knightsbridge, in fact, it is opposite the Natural History Museum/Victoria & Albert Museum. We did ’hum and ha’ a bit as to whether we should drive up or get the train. At first, the train seemed the better option as London is an absolute nightmare to drive around plus there is that dreaded congestion charge. But then I had a brilliant idea. The company I work for has a flat in the Sloane ... ...3 minutes walking distance from the Rembrandt. So, I asked if it would be possible to park my car in one of the company’s two parking spaces (private car park underneath the flat complex) and, as I work for the chairman, I immediately gained permission which saved us quite a considerable amount of car parking fees plus the private car park is just outside the congestion zone too! Therefore, this hotel is quite easily accessed from the M4 and is also ...

Tea and cakes for 12 please
Advantages: Attentive service, delicious food. Disadvantages: A little pricey, the temptation to just keep on eating.....
It was my Aunts 60th birthday and as a treat for her and her close female friends and family, we were all invited to Afternoon Tea at Claridges.
Afternoon Tea is held daily from 3pm until 5:30pm and this is something you have to book in advance, either over the phone or using the online booking form. As I didn't do this I can't comment on how easy or difficult it was. We totaled 12 and were sat on a long narrow table in a spacious area of the room. ... ...I didn't pay too much attention - sorry! - but it was very ornate, high ceilings, a bit art deco and surprisingly not as 'posh' as I thought it would be. There was lots of space between the tables of which there were many and above the buzz of conversation you could hear someone playing the piano. ~ Tea, Sandwiches and Cakes ~
There were a few menus dotted on the table, of course I can't list every single tea (there were about 4 sides of A5 paper ...

A bargin at The Chesterfield
Advantages: High quality and excellent location Disadvantages: Rooms on the small side
...of january 2007 at the Chesterfield Mayfair with my wife and another couple. I booked us this trip through expedia.co.uk as I have found them very good before, particulary their bargin hotel prices, and did again this time. I found expedia especially good on this occasion because apart from the trip being everything that we were promised our trip was to take place over a period of proposed strike action by BA staff (the airline we had chosen to use). ... ...to the hotel............
The Chesterfield Mayfair is advertised as a top class hotel and we checked this out on tripadvisor.com where they rated it very highly (top twenty hotels in London). It really was very nice indeed.
LOCATION- is excellent, right in the heart of the really residentail part of Mayfair (Close to the Ritz, Berkly Square, Sunseeker yacht showroom, Porche dealership etc) it was only a 5 minute walk from Green Park tube station ...

Excellent service and fantastic location in the heart of London
Advantages: Excellent customer service, immaculate presentation. Disadvantages: We got a good rate, but I think the hotel could be expensive if you don't get a deal.
...every expectation. Firstly, the location - this hotel is right in Trafalgar Square and is a 2 minute walk from the Trafalgar Square exit of Charing Cross station. You could not be more perfectly located for visiting any part of London you can get just about anywhere in Central London fairly quickly from this hotel. From the moment we set foot in the door nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were excellent. The check in staff were really ... ...is a large desk in the bar area, but I think that this breaks down the staff/guest barrier and makes them more approachable (normally I am quite shy about approaching people). Also check in wasn't until 3pm but we arrived at 11.45 am and were able to check in straight away.
The whole hotel is decorated in a very contempory style which I loved. The downstairs bar is really trendy with a fantastic drinks menu although the drinks are very expensive. ...

Weekend break at the Hampshire
Advantages: Complete luxury in the most central London location Disadvantages: £600+ final bill
I recently stayed at the Hampshire for 2 nights during a theatre trip with my partner. As a treat I booked a junior suite (through radissonedwardian.com). At a nightly rate of £261 (ex. VAT) it was not cheap, but we were rewarded with a wonderful room right at the heart of Leicester Square with a very comfy king size bed, leather sofa, mini bar, marble bathroom with seperate toilet cubicle, shower, bath, and double wash basins. It was spacious, spotless, ... ...4th floor). Hotel staff were friendly and courteous, and service prompt, professional, unfussy, and discreet. Our bags were carried to the room without hesitation. We took breakfast in the room and even though we were told to allow a half hour 'window', it still arrived exactly at the stated time. There was far to much food though. I tipped for all services I used, but this was optional and my own choice. Be aware that in the restaurant/bar the tip ...
