A mixed bag - I wouldn't stay again.
Review of Millennium Bailey's Hotel, London by claire.wizzbiz

Advantages: restaurant, friendly staff, close to tube
Disadvantages: noisy, mouse in room, unclear invoices

This hotel was a mixed bag. I stayed with a colleague for business purposes. We stayed for one night, mid-week on April 7th 2008. I stayed in a room on the second floor and my colleague was on the first floor. On the plus side - If you want a hotel close to a tube station, this is perfect. Gloucester Rd was right opposite, 100yds. It was also close to South Kensington which was one stop away on the tube and very nice for shopping. The double glazing ...
...from the street. Unfortunately my window wouldn't open, it was broken. I didn't report this so just had to live with it. I booked two single rooms for myself and a colleague, we both got double rooms, which were spacious. The bed was comfortable, linen clean, water hot and the bathroom was clean. The television in the room was very good, lots of channels, new and in working order. I got an extremely reasonable tariff, £107 for Dinner, bed and breakfast ... Read review

not a bad place to stay
Review of London Marriott Hotel Maida Vale, London by fossiebear

Advantages: good quality hotel
Disadvantages: Almost suburbia

We had not stayed at the Marriott in Maida Vale before and so were a little apprehensive when we booked online for a Saturday night. We need not have have worried, the hotel was the usual Marriott 4* standard - great to excellent. We had booked an 'arrive late, stay late' package for £92.00 plus VAT including breakfast for two - the cheapest internet rate available, and so didn't quite know what to expect. Check in was after 8.00pm, check out 6.pm. ...
...hotel car park and asked whether our room was ready. It wasn't but the reception did all the check in procedures so that all we had to do later was collect the room key. The concierge took our bags for safe keeping as well. We were late getting back, after 11.00pm but our room key was waiting and we discovered a room allocated on the Executive floor - exclusive access to the Executive lounge with tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks available! A ... Read review

(Not quite) Wunderbar Vanderbilt......
Review of Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt, London by richardsonjones

Advantages: Great Location
Disadvantages: Strange smell in the room?

I visited the Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt for 1 night in March 2004 after booking it for a birthday treat for my mom. The Hotel is located in Kensington, 1 minute away from Gloucester Road tube stop (Circle, Piccadilly & District Lines) so it benefits from a great location and is very easily accessible. The exterior of the hotel is very impressive & the lobby too, while small, is very pretty. What's more the staff couldn't have been more friendly ...
...room when they found out our trip was to celebrate my mother's birthday. They offered to make a reservation for us for dinner in the evening, and even called to remind us to put our clocks forward one hour (we stayed the weekend that the clocks in the UK change from GMT to BST). However, having stayed in many similar hotels in London previously I can say that this wasn't the best. Our (now superior) twin room was pretty large and we had some really ... Read review

County Hall
Review of Premier Travel Inn London - County Hall, London by dpw22

Advantages: Good price, friendly staff, good location, good meals, quiet
Disadvantages: No wheelchair access at the front

...the London tourist attractions. The Premier Inn County Hall Hotel fit the bill and also delivered so much more. I caught a taxi from the train station and the first thing that I noticed when getting there was that the part of Belvedere Road in which the hotel is situated has barriers at either end so only traffic that has a reason for being there is allowed in...this makes the front of the hotel quieter than most places in London. The building also ...
...had been reserved through the Premier Inn website and so it was just a matter of paying for the room with a credit card. Check in is not until after 2pm but you can drop off your luggage for free while you take in some of the sights. The lifts are clean and very smooth - these can only be accessed with a room keycard so remember to have your with you at all times. The rooms are very nice especially considering the price. My room included a double ... Read review

A Quality Hotel at a Sensible Price
Review of Chamberlain Hotel, London by sbenbow

Advantages: Great for a quiet weekend break in London
Disadvantages: Can be too quiet if you are in London for the "night life"

...breakfast): http://www.benbow.org.uk/chamberlain.htm The Chamberlain is in the business district of London, so it is quiet at the weekends (and there are not many restaurants open). This was ideal for us, as we are light sleepers, and it meant a really good nights sleep. The tube is literally 60 seconds around the corner, so for daytrips and evening meals we were able to go out and about easily (even with my wife in high heels), and London was our ...
...The continental breakfast at The Chamberlain was really good too. A nice selection of items. The croissants and cinamon danish's were fresh, and there was a good selection of meat, cheeses, rolls, and toast. Although we checked out on Sunday morning, we were able to keep our bags at the hotel until Sunday evening. This was great, as it meant we didn't have to lug our suitcases all around London (and Harrods!). I would recommend the hotel to anyone, ... Read review
