Five star experience Advantages: Cental location, excellent serivce, wifi internet, tennis court Disadvantages: Five star prices ...Churchill now managed by the Hyatt is one of the best London hotels. Hotel facilities: famous Cigar bar, recently opened (2005) Montagu Restaurant, one of the best italian restaurants in the city Locanda Locatelli, wi-fi internet, health club, hairdresser, tennis court on Portman Square, attentive security and so on. Rooms are big, clean and really 5 star standard. For a small supplement you can enjoy club lounge facilities with unlimited soft and ... ...this place is well organized. The best option if money is not an issue it to go for a Portman Square view room, on the 8 floor. The best rate you can get is to be found on the hyatt's website. Tea and cakes for 12 please Advantages: Attentive service, delicious food. Disadvantages: A little pricey, the temptation to just keep on eating..... It was my Aunts 60th birthday and as a treat for her and her close female friends and family, we were all invited to Afternoon Tea at Claridges. Afternoon Tea is held daily from 3pm until 5:30pm and this is something you have to book in advance, either over the phone or using the online booking form. As I didn't do this I can't comment on how easy or difficult it was. We totaled 12 and were sat on a long narrow table in a spacious area of the room. ... ...I didn't pay too much attention - sorry! - but it was very ornate, high ceilings, a bit art deco and surprisingly not as 'posh' as I thought it would be. Weekend break at the Hampshire Advantages: Complete luxury in the most central London location Disadvantages: £600+ final bill I recently stayed at the Hampshire for 2 nights during a theatre trip with my partner. As a treat I booked a junior suite (through radissonedwardian.com). At a nightly rate of £261 (ex. VAT) it was not cheap, but we were rewarded with a wonderful room right at the heart of Leicester Square with a very comfy king size bed, leather sofa, mini bar, marble bathroom with seperate toilet cubicle, shower, bath, and double wash basins. It was spacious, spotless, ... ...4th floor). Hotel staff were friendly and courteous, and service prompt, professional, unfussy, and discreet. Our bags were carried to the room without hesitation. We took breakfast in the room and even though we were told to allow a half hour 'window', it still arrived exactly at the stated time. There was far to much food though. A nice hotel in a good location. Advantages: Nice comfortable hotel in a lovely location. Disadvantages: Very expensive to eat inside the hotel, don't bother! Although I have been to London a few times, my most recent visit would be the first time I would be staying in a hotel there, as I usually stayed with a friend just outside of London. Hotels in London don't come cheap with many hotels starting at around £130 per night, and going upwards from there! We decided to stay in London for 3 nights, which isn't long enough for me but it was proving to be too expensive finding somewhere half decent for 4 nights. ... ... We went down to London on the train, arriving at King's Cross then hopping onto the Piccadilly Line which runs straight to the hotel's nearest underground station, Gloucester Road. This was easily done even with my suitcase, although it's handy to have a man who can carry it up the stair's in some of the stations!
