A bargin at The Chesterfield
Advantages: High quality and excellent location Disadvantages: Rooms on the small side
...of january 2007 at the Chesterfield Mayfair with my wife and another couple. I booked us this trip through expedia.co.uk as I have found them very good before, particulary their bargin hotel prices, and did again this time. I found expedia especially good on this occasion because apart from the trip being everything that we were promised our trip was to take place over a period of proposed strike action by BA staff (the airline we had chosen to use). ... ...to the hotel............
The Chesterfield Mayfair is advertised as a top class hotel and we checked this out on tripadvisor.com where they rated it very highly (top twenty hotels in London). It really was very nice indeed.
LOCATION- is excellent, right in the heart of the really residentail part of Mayfair (Close to the Ritz, Berkly Square, Sunseeker yacht showroom, Porche dealership etc) it was only a 5 minute walk from Green Park tube station ...

Do you lead an Intercontinental life? IC Park Lane London
Advantages: Great location. Excellent value for London. Brilliant service. Luxurious rooms! Disadvantages: Still expensive as it's London!
So now that many of you will now have read one of my Asian hotel reviews I thought it was about time to write about some luxury closer to home. Something more of you can get to easier should my reviews be powerful enough to sway your decision! London has one of the largest selection of hotels in the world and choosing one is certainly very hit and miss. The so called luxury hotels in London can be just that or they can be very poor. Having experienced ... ...difficult to find a property to rival any of these closer to home until I discovered the Intercontinental Park Lane. After staying in a variety of different properties I finally discovered the IC and plumped up for a stay here. Since then I have not been to another hotel in the capital. It really has ticked all my boxes which is no mean feat! Let me share with you why this is the case as you come and experience the IC for yourselves. Booking ...

Excellent service and fantastic location in the heart of London
Advantages: Excellent customer service, immaculate presentation. Disadvantages: We got a good rate, but I think the hotel could be expensive if you don't get a deal.
...every expectation. Firstly, the location - this hotel is right in Trafalgar Square and is a 2 minute walk from the Trafalgar Square exit of Charing Cross station. You could not be more perfectly located for visiting any part of London you can get just about anywhere in Central London fairly quickly from this hotel. From the moment we set foot in the door nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were excellent. The check in staff were really ... ...is a large desk in the bar area, but I think that this breaks down the staff/guest barrier and makes them more approachable (normally I am quite shy about approaching people). Also check in wasn't until 3pm but we arrived at 11.45 am and were able to check in straight away.
The whole hotel is decorated in a very contempory style which I loved. The downstairs bar is really trendy with a fantastic drinks menu although the drinks are very expensive. ...

Weekend break at the Hampshire
Advantages: Complete luxury in the most central London location Disadvantages: £600+ final bill
I recently stayed at the Hampshire for 2 nights during a theatre trip with my partner. As a treat I booked a junior suite (through radissonedwardian.com). At a nightly rate of £261 (ex. VAT) it was not cheap, but we were rewarded with a wonderful room right at the heart of Leicester Square with a very comfy king size bed, leather sofa, mini bar, marble bathroom with seperate toilet cubicle, shower, bath, and double wash basins. It was spacious, spotless, ... ...4th floor). Hotel staff were friendly and courteous, and service prompt, professional, unfussy, and discreet. Our bags were carried to the room without hesitation. We took breakfast in the room and even though we were told to allow a half hour 'window', it still arrived exactly at the stated time. There was far to much food though. I tipped for all services I used, but this was optional and my own choice. Be aware that in the restaurant/bar the tip ...
