Enjoyed my stay here
Advantages: Free continental breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff Disadvantages: bit noisy
I stayed at this hotel back in May when I went to London for the first time for a long weekend. Wasn't really sure what to expect but I had a great time.
Hotel Rooms
Room was very clean and also had air conditioning which was just as well as weather was great when I was there. I had a room based at the front of the hotel which meant I had really good views but this was a little noisy as hotel doesn't have double galzing. There are tea and coffee ... ...so didn't use these. Plenty of room to hang your clothes but didn't bother unpacking as was only a few nights. Room also has tv which radio stations too and wireless keyboard if you're there for business. Toilet was very clean and bright, a sqeezy dove soap was included and also one of these in the shower too, saves taking your own. Double bed was very comfortable and made each day.
Continental Breakfast
Was told the times of breakfast by the girl ...

Decent London Hotel on the Southbank
Advantages: Continental Breakfast included Disadvantages: Nothing
...the end of the day how much time do you actually spend in your room really.
I would certainly recommend it if you are on a budget and for families too.

What a dump!
Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: Everything else
I don't even know where to begin. I booked a twin and a triple room for two nights in this 'hotel' for a special occasion we were attending in London. for a bargain price of £390. The location for our event was perfect but otherwise I was utterly disappointed with this hotel. Upon arrival to our rooms one bed had chewing gum stuck to it, the other had burn marks on it, the shower was hanging off the wall and even if it was attched only people less ... ...were two towels for three people, there was other peoples belongings down the side of the desk and overall we were not happy. A similar situation occured with our twin room, lack of towels, no kettle, dirty bed sheets etc. We rang reception who assured us they would send up towels asap and that we could speak to the manager later that eveing regarding our concerns. We then proceeded to the self service restaurant. There was 8+ waiting staff standing ...

President Russell Square - oficially the worst I've ever had
Advantages: Location - but I'd rather be in a better hotel further out Disadvantages: Pretty much everything else!
This hotel is way below the standard of any I have ever stayed in. Having arrived in Russell Square by tube we found the hotel without too many problems, although it feels a little as though it is up a back street. First impressions were not good - the whole place looked as though it were in a time warp. We went to reception to check in and were given a room key and sent up to the room, only to get there and find it was still being prepared then ... ...on the walls - inexplicable! We went to sit in the reception area where our impression of the hotel only got worse. The reception staff were Ok, nice but seemingly clueless in allocating rooms which are not ready.
The common areas were awful, very tatty with dirty sofas which may have been new once in the 1960s. By this point I actually wasn't looking forward to getting into the room. Eventually after waiting around half an hour for someone to inform ...

Home Base for Traveling with a Grandchild
Advantages: Comfortable, clean, pleasant ambience, elbow room Disadvantages: Lacks many traditional hotel facilities and services, such as room service and baggage storage
...trip planner, I selected the New Linden, a small hotel straddling Bayswater and Notting Hill, not far north of Kensington Gardens. The location was handy for buses and the tube, easily facilitating our forays around and about London.
In the end, that choice came down to space and price. I wanted a space that would provide both our grandson and us with an opportunity for privacy, and I wanted to do so without paying the usual London prices for a ... ...of our quad.
The New Linden is listed on various hotel sites at 2, 3, or 4 stars. Take your pick. I venture to approximate 3 stars based on its lack of urban hotel facilities. In the final analysis, however, it’s the experience that counts. Based on our experience, we would happily return to this charming hotel. It combines convenience with value for money, and we left with happy memories. Who could ask for more? ...
