Ideal for the 02
Advantages: close to 02, good value, comfortable Disadvantages: run-down area, rushed staff
We stayed here in April while attending an event at the 02. The location is ideal for the O2 - just one stop away on the Jubilee line. It's great when you leave the O2 because most people are heading in the other direction!
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were polite, but seemed very rushed. When we asked for more pillows they never arrived. The breakfast was adequate and as expected. Plenty of cereals, fruit, toast and pastires ... ...the hotel, the area is quite run-down. I wouldn't have been comfortable walking from the tube station to the hotel in the dark on my own. Luckily it is only a short walk away.
All in all it wasn't bad for the price, and was ideal as a base for attending events at the O2. ...

Highly recommended hotel
Advantages: Close to Tube Station/Bars/restaurants Disadvantages: Lift too small
...2 friends stayed at The Kensington Court Hotel in Feb 2006, whilst on a weekend break to London.
The hotel is in an ideal situation for travellers in the fashionable Earls Court. It is a 2 minute walk to the nearest tube station and has lots of pubs and restaurants nearby.
The hotel itself was very clean and well presented. The rooms were very spacious with everything you need eg hairdryers, kettles, towels, tv etc.The en-suite bathroom had a shower ... ...3 nights, booking through Superbreak.According to the Kensington Court Hotel website they charge £65 for a double, £72 for a single and £65 for a twin. They also have triple and quad rooms, which cost about £115-£125 per night.
I would definatly stay here again if i was visiting London. ...

Home Base for Traveling with a Grandchild
Advantages: Comfortable, clean, pleasant ambience, elbow room Disadvantages: Lacks many traditional hotel facilities and services, such as room service and baggage storage
...trip planner, I selected the New Linden, a small hotel straddling Bayswater and Notting Hill, not far north of Kensington Gardens. The location was handy for buses and the tube, easily facilitating our forays around and about London.
In the end, that choice came down to space and price. I wanted a space that would provide both our grandson and us with an opportunity for privacy, and I wanted to do so without paying the usual London prices for a ... ...of our quad.
The New Linden is listed on various hotel sites at 2, 3, or 4 stars. Take your pick. I venture to approximate 3 stars based on its lack of urban hotel facilities. In the final analysis, however, it’s the experience that counts. Based on our experience, we would happily return to this charming hotel. It combines convenience with value for money, and we left with happy memories. Who could ask for more? ...

Just down the road from the real Elizabeth's house
Advantages: Location, comfort, breakfast Disadvantages: Lack of chic, American tourists
This is a hotel full of traditional English charm. It has military references, allusions to Royalty and a kind of generic Englishness about it that is not entirely fake. It is very conveniently locatednear Victoria, so access to many parts of London are within walking distance, and let's be honest, this is not the worst part of London by any means. The character of the hotel seems to attract Americans in their droves who must revel in the quaintness ... ...recently whilst visiting the Chelsea Flower Show, which was very close by. I took the liberty of inspecting their room, which had a nice view of the courtyard below. It was very comfortably furnished, included a safe, en-suite bathroom, tv... Apparently their breakfast was very substantial and negated the need for lunch. The hotel has a very user-friendly booking system on the net and an informative website. My booking cost 110 pounds for one night ...

Good value for money
Advantages: Close to Baker Street tube & buses Disadvantages: Only single or double rooms - no triple or family rooms
...in London staying at the Americana Hotel in a twin room. Not the largest room but as we did not spend much time there other than for sleeping this was not a problem. The room had plenty of storage space and was lovely and warm and secondary glazing meant that the room was fairly quiet even though it was on the main road. The hotel has recently been refurbished and was quite well fitted although the carpets and bedspreads were rather grubby. However ... ...towels were changed daily.
Breakfast is served between 7.30 & 9.30 each day though earlier breakfast is available by arrangement. There was a good choice of fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast or bread rolls with meat, cheese or hard boiled eggs and juice or hot drinks. Check out hotel websites before booking - we paid £188 for 3 nights, but some sites were offering the hotel price of £345 (£115 per night ). Don't think it's worth this but if you can get ...
