Great base for a stay in the west end Advantages: great location. deliciouus breakfast, polite staff, breakfast in room option Disadvantages: Basic room, plain decor ...break in London. The Rathbone is in a great location in central London in the heart of the West End so is ideal if you are planning on shopping on Oxford Street, Regent Street, New Bond Street or Covent Garden. It is also near the restaurants and bars in Soho as well as seveal theatres. It's less than 5 minutes walk from either Tottenham Court Road or Oxford Street tubes so really easy to get about. The hotel has a grand entrance with large chandaliers ... ...polite and respectful. Our room was basic, a medium size with a very basic bathroom with bath with shower over. The was air conditioning in the room but this was a little noisy. The breakfast could either be eaten in the restaurant or you could choose to have a continental style breakfast in your room by ticking off the items you wanted on a door hanger and placing it outside your dor the night before. Stopping at The Gainsborough Hotel. Advantages: Modern, sleek yet stylish. Disadvantages: I dont live there. The Gainsborough is a very grand, period, four star hotel, This hotel is in a fantastic location. It is situated in South Kensington and is near to attractions including the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Albert Hall and Kensington Palace. The tube station is close too so if you want to go shopping, you don't have to walk far. It is located in a very nice, safe area. Express Holiday Inn Earls Court, London Advantages: Good location in London Disadvantages: Expensive to say the least. Express By Holiday inn earls court, London I made a visit to Holiday inn, in earls court during the middle of July and found this a nice place to stay. The Hotel had a small sign displayed at the front of the Hotel window advertising rooms from ninety nine Pounds per room per night. Regarding the Hotel's location the nearest tube station is West brompton station which takes around ten minutes to walk from the station to the Hotel, or Fulham broadway ... ...the area. Directly opposite the Express by Holiday inn is a Thai Restaurant and a Beds Furniture Store. On the corner of the main road is a Polish Coffee shop and many other Restaurant's going towards Fulham. Upon entry to the reception area I found the check in process to be fast and efficient, in that it took me around four minutes to have my payment taken and also my room card handed over to me. Thistle Hyde Park, London Advantages: Outstanding Views, best hotel in London i've stayed at Disadvantages: couldn't fault it I stayed at this Hotel last year, and have been to London 4 times since. Ive stayed in over 10 hotels in the capital and can honestly say this has been my favourite hotel. The views over Hyde Park were gorgeous and gave a lovely view of the london eye, and the flight path. The rooms were a good size and layed out well. It wasn't unclean at all. The staff were extremely helpful and went out their way to help you. The breakfast was gorgeous and provided ... ...the local tube station, and close to notting hill and shops. It was central to oxford street and all that London has to offer, without been slap bang in the middle. Only downfall i suppose ( the only one) was that it was upstairs to a petrol station yet it wasnt a problem for me.
