Top class service
Review of Mad Hatter Hotel, London by Jen1978

Advantages: Centrally located, great rooms
Disadvantages: Bit of a walk for agood choice of restaurants

This is a lovely, friendy hotel. The staff really go out of their way to help you and are always cheerful and friendly. The rooms are spotless and we had a lovely huge bathroom. I didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. I found it too be much friendlier and more homely than standard business hotels and it has more character than many places I have stayed in London. There are lots of nice restaurants within a 15-20 minute walk, but ...
...(although there are some bars and restaurants). The hotel is well placed for visiting central London, and if the weather is nice, you can have a lovely stroll along the river side. We paid approx. £95 per night for a double room (well, my boyfriend's firm did as they were the ones sending him on a course in London!). I personally thought this would be too much to pay myself if I was on a leisure break as I normally stay in cheaper hotels when in ... Read review

Express By Holiday Inn: Earls Court
Review of Express By Holiday Inn Earls Court, London by pikeygirl

Advantages: Close to Earls Court
Disadvantages: Bit of a tube ride into centre of London

...and myself) stayed at the Express by Holiday Inn: Earls Court on 03 October for one night. Why ------- We had tickets to Wicked and wanted a hotel close to the Apollo Victoria theatre (it was only a couple of tube stops). How Much -------------- We paid £119.00 for one night in a "triple" room. We booked this directly with Holiday Inn, because I am a priority club member, we did try to get travel agent discount, but we had no luck! First Impression ...
...West Kensington was the closest tube station to the hotel; it was a good ten minute walk, with luggage. Walking up to the hotel you notice that it looks like quite a new property, and as soon as you enter the lobby/reception this is confirmed to you. Check-in was an absolute breeze, we were handed our room key-cards, and after signing some paperwork, we made our way up to room 511. The hotel only has five floors which is quite nice, but what was ... Read review

Great base for a stay in the west end
Review of Rathbone Hotel, London by street600

Advantages: great location. deliciouus breakfast, polite staff, breakfast in room option
Disadvantages: Basic room, plain decor

...break in London. The Rathbone is in a great location in central London in the heart of the West End so is ideal if you are planning on shopping on Oxford Street, Regent Street, New Bond Street or Covent Garden. It is also near the restaurants and bars in Soho as well as seveal theatres. It's less than 5 minutes walk from either Tottenham Court Road or Oxford Street tubes so really easy to get about. The hotel has a grand entrance with large chandaliers ...
...polite and respectful. Our room was basic, a medium size with a very basic bathroom with bath with shower over. The was air conditioning in the room but this was a little noisy. The breakfast could either be eaten in the restaurant or you could choose to have a continental style breakfast in your room by ticking off the items you wanted on a door hanger and placing it outside your dor the night before. We opted to eat in the restaurant and the service ... Read review

Only book if incredibly desperate!!!
Review of Blair Victoria Hotel, London by Lummers40000

Advantages: Friendly Staff
Disadvantages: Rooms appear dirty, damp marks in bathroom, run down

If you need a place to rest your head then this caters for that but that's about all. I was taking a friend to see a show on a Saturday night, we arrived to find someone in the room we have been given a key for and was then shown to a room after about a 20 minute wait. There was damp in the bathroom, the whole place needs a lick of paint and everything is seriously dated. The hairdryer is lethal so take your own! No towels. We went out to the show ...
...until about 4am - there is always someone on reception and they are more than happy to let you in at any time. I must say that the staff are very friendly. Breakfast in the morning was basic cereal, toast, tea and coffee but that was ok. I wouldn't stay there again but it was the cheapest available and it's the location that you're paying for. Only book if incredibly desperate!!! ... Read review

Uncaring staff
Review of Best Western Mornington Hotel, London by clchok

Advantages: Decent sized rooms
Disadvantages: Staff just doesn't care

I booked a hotel room for my girlfriend and her mother for a night here just yesterday. On the first day everything went well, despite having been given a room that smelt quite a bit of old cigarette smoke. However, the following day when they were checking out we overheard a very frazzled woman ask the man at the counter to check up on her bag. As it turns out it was stolen from her while she was having breakfast in the hotel! The man acted extremely ...
...her passport, phone and even her glasses, and even went so far as to say when she had left the counter, I quote: "It's not as if someone died". Needless to say, my girlfriend who was intending to leave her luggage there during the day, decided against it. And I definitely would not book this hotel again seeing how much their staff cares about the customers. ... Read review
