Britannia Hampstead Hotel, London
Advantages: none! Disadvantages: everything!
I stayed at this hotel when I went to London for a two night stay, it was a travel package which included coach travel down, we didn't know where we were staying until we got there and believe me if I had have known I wouldn't have gone. The outside looked okay and the lobby didn't look too bad either but then we went in our room, it was very dark and dull and very dated, it was fairly clean though. The toilet and shower were seperate the toilet ... ...were cracked and looked as if they had been stuck on by somone who didn't know what they were doing. There was no bath just a stand alone shower squashed into a cupboard that was hidden with a door.
The food- The travel package included breakfast and tea, there wasn't much choice, if your fussy your stuffed basically, and it was all cold and both meal sittings served the same food, we went to macdonnalds on one night and to find one of them we had ...

Cheap and cheerful stay in the capital.
Advantages: quiet, cheap, clean Disadvantages: no frills, bread and jam for breakfast!!
...of minutes walk from the Bayswater tube station, Queensway being about four minutes. These stations serve District, Circle and Queensway also serves the Central lines. The hotel is situated on a quite square with a mixture of private residence and hotels around. There was on street parking and altough there were spaces to be had I can imagine at peak times it would be hard to get a space.
Kensington palace and gardens is a three minute walk away ... ...hotel.
I found the Bayswater area really pleasant there was an abundance of amenities near by from local off-Licences to Tesco metros, Pizza hut, Mc Donalds and copius restraunts and pubs... If you couldnt find somewhere that suits your palate to eat within a 2 minute walk I would be very suprised!
***Checking in*** This was simple and quick, the entrance is by a buzzer operated door and reception is right in front of you. The reception is small ...

Royal......I think not!!
Advantages: Central, Decent Breakfast, Handy for Heathrow Express Disadvantages: No Customer Service, No bar/tea making, Shabby rooms
We stayed here with friends who were on their first proper visit to London. They had been down for our Civil Partnership earlier in the year (See my other reviews) We booked flights and accomodation through British Airways Holidays. As such we expected a certain standard, even though it was only rated 2 star.
The hotel is centrally situated on Craven Road, just 3 minute walk from Paddington Rail Station. This station is also the terminus for the ... ...looks very grandiose form outside. A few steps takes you inside to the reception area. The staff on reception appeared un-interetsed. They didn't make conversation, this may be because they didn't have good english.
On the British Airways Holiday website they advise there is a bar. This was never open! Our rooms were on the 5th floor overlooking the back of the hotel and kitchens. Our room was on the small side. Enough room for a double bed, 1 bedside ...

Uncaring staff
Advantages: Decent sized rooms Disadvantages: Staff just doesn't care
I booked a hotel room for my girlfriend and her mother for a night here just yesterday. On the first day everything went well, despite having been given a room that smelt quite a bit of old cigarette smoke. However, the following day when they were checking out we overheard a very frazzled woman ask the man at the counter to check up on her bag. As it turns out it was stolen from her while she was having breakfast in the hotel! The man acted extremely ... ...her passport, phone and even her glasses, and even went so far as to say when she had left the counter, I quote: "It's not as if someone died".
Needless to say, my girlfriend who was intending to leave her luggage there during the day, decided against it. And I definitely would not book this hotel again seeing how much their staff cares about the customers. ...
