Fantastic hotel, shame about its surroundings
Advantages: Beautifully presented, very welcoming Disadvantages: Feels a bit rough in the surrounding area
The Holiday Inn Kings Cross/Bloomsbury is a beatifully presented and welcoming hotel. The decor is clean, modern and, to a degree, much more opulent in design than other holiday inns where I have stayed. The room itself was large with a king size bed and a very nice seating area (which I presume will change to a sleeping area if required. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and about average size for a hotel of its class. The view from the window ... ...Close the curtains though and you could be anywhere in the world. The staff at the hotel are extremely welcoming and accommodating. They were very helpful and could not do enough for you. I found it very interesting to observe how 'international' the staff were. I was very aware of their excellent ability to communicate in various languages to foreign visitors. This is always a very welcoming sign. As for breakfast: It was just like any other hotel. ...

A Jazzy Little Number
Advantages: Stylish, superb service, nice garden Disadvantages: Over-priced, small rooms
...London is largely dependant on the length of my visit, the purpose of my visit and how much time I intend to spend in my room. My last visit was staggered across two days such that I had a larger part of the afternoon, an evening and part of the morning to kill, which meant that I wanted somewhere comfortable, in which I could really relax. It has to be said that such a specification could cost you a fortune in London, but I was determined not to ... ...I tend to stay in the Holborn/Bloomsbury area, and decided to try out one of the Bloomsbury town house hotels that I have walked past so many times.
ABOUT THE HOTEL
In line with its rather picturesque name, The Montague on the Gardens occupies a prime location in the heart of Bloomsbury, amidst one of the streets of gorgeous period townhouses. The building is extremely elegant, with period features throughout and a high standard of décor and fittings ...

Marriott Marble Arch - London
Advantages: Best bed i have slept in Disadvantages: No tube station close by
...wanted to go on the London Eye this year as i thought we would get a good view of the fire works.
The hotel is of a very high standard and is kept well maintained, although we felt it was expensive for where it is situated compared to other hotels.
The bedrooms are very tastefully decorated and are quite roomy compared to other hotels. It had a queen size bed which is about the size of a double bed plus half again, the mattress was soft and comfortable ... ...one and the pillows were large and fluffy, it is the best bed i have slept in i had a thoroughly good night sleep. The room also had a shower/bath and a sofa, TV with alarm clock and telephone, iron and hairdryer, the Wardrobe space was plentiful with about 10 hangers in total.
It is a 5 - 10 minute walk to the nearest tube station which doesn't sound too bad until you have walked all the way down Oxford steet because the tube stations are undergoing ...

Best Holiday Inn in London
Advantages: London on your doorstep Disadvantages: not a bargain
...it. Although it is a holiday inn, it is relatively small and in a lovely old building. It has a very appealing garden terrace which backs on to the grounds of a nearby convent and it is very pleasant and peaceful to sit outside. The rooms are of a very nice standard - I have stayed in most types, from standard to the duplex suite and find the executive rooms to be the most comfartable. When booking, definitely request one facing the garden to the ... ...very friendly and always remember me which I think is nice, considering how many people pass through their doors. The food is good enough and the bar is comfortable. The hotel is just opposite gloucester road tube station and very near earls court and olympia. Great for shopping, great for business and if booked online room rates are as cheap as £89 per room, per night. Excellent value in central London. ...

A great city hotel - shame about the size
Advantages: A wonderful hotel in a good location Disadvantages: rooms are on the small side
...a huge fan of the Radisson SAS & Radisson Edwardian brand. I do like to try different hotels and when visiting London overnight, by far my favourite is Radisson Mayfair. On this particular visit however, I opted to try a different chocolate from the box so to speak... *the hotel* the selection of this hotel was not difficult. As mentioned above, I have a huge liking of all things Radisson and an especially soft spot for boutique hotels. As this establishment ... ...everything that should be expected, Radisson robes and slippers, tea & coffee facilities, a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. I have quite a thing about bathrooms in hotels. I like them to look nice and be sparking and clean whilst filled with luxurious freebies. I am then happy. All in all, our room was good, the size we could live with as after all, we're in London and don't anticipate spending too much time in the hotel. *The restaurant & ...
