Very Hot
Review of Corus Hotel Hyde Park, London by Keynshamkeith

Advantages: good location & cheap for a 4 star hotel even if it is a bit rundown
Disadvantages: very small rooms, masively overheated, watch out for tricky pricing deals

When I look back at my stay in the hotel that is the thing that stands out my wife and I were in an "executive twin" which was one of the relatively fiew with air conditioning this mostly offset the fact that even in July the hotel was heateded like a sauna. A colleague was in much smaller room a "twin" he had no AC and suffered greatly from the heat rvrm eoyj yjr window open the few inches it would go. When I booked the room I opted for the executive ...
...but as it wasnt a huge difference in money decided it was a good bet to keep my wife in a good mood as we were in London for a special ocasion. In the process of booking the "executive rather than the normal twin I missed the small proint that said that this did not include Breakfast so ended up paying an extra £20 per day for breakfast. If it hadnt been for the heat and the iritation at the extra breakfast cost I would have enjoyed my stay at the ... Read review

At the Apex of the industry
Review of Apex City of London Hotel, London by rickyshah

Advantages: Cheap, very comfortable
Disadvantages: None.

...did. I asked them. Apex to the rescue -------------------------- After 45 minutes of arguing with Lastminute, I spoke to the hotel, who very kindly offered to speak to them to sort out the whole sorry mess. To their credit, they did, and the booking was changed. It was then I found out I could have booked the room direct with the hotel for £89. Lastminute's supposed 'bargain' rate? £79. For the sake of £10, book with the hotel. It's worth it ...
...and charming, I was sooooo impressed. Where is it, then? ------------------------ This hotel is situated on Seething Lane in the Square Mile area of London, near the Tower of London and where Samuel Pepy's used to work, fact-fans. It's a very business-y locale, with several big law firms having their offices nearby. The Hotel is a short walk from Tower Hill station, so has easy connections to the West End. Of course, you have the Tower for a bit ... Read review

Excellent quality budget choice
Review of Express By Holiday Inn London Royal Docks - Docklands, London by C.Laslett

Advantages: Excellent Value, Close Proximity to London Underground Station
Disadvantages: None

When looking for a low-budget hotel close to the city for a group of 5 family members, we chose to stay at the Royal Docklands HI Express. This hotel was much better than expected and represents excellent value for money, with rooms starting from just £50, including breakfast. Rooms can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children so £50 B&B for a family of 4 is amazing value! For best rates, try to book online (www.holidayinn.co.uk) and at least 14 ...
...advertised at £160 so booking upfront is most definately essential. ba The hotel is easy to get to, much easier than I first thought it would be. Canning Town Tube Station (Jubilee Line / DLR) is a short couple of minutes walk across the road - you can actually see the station from the hotel entrance. Services to central London take around 20 minutes and cost no more than £3 for adults, although anyone planning to travel around the city a lot should ... Read review

Staying in London - City Inn
Review of City Inn Westminster, London by sianalrida

Advantages: proximity to centre, excellent rooms
Disadvantages: Bar tab in the morning

When booking a hotel in London for the first time, it's hard to know where to book. We booked this one knowing it was close to the Tate and also to Westminster (the clue was in the name). We arrived on a Friday evening and were pleasantly surprised that the street outside looked very safe and that parking was free. Also no congestion charge! On arrival, our bags were taken and after check in the porter showed us our room. It was a fair size and ...
...TV, desk with a leather chair and a very large double bed. The bathrooms consisted of both bath and shower and the toiletries were made by the White Company - a decent brand! The hotel room was air conditions with a control ont eh wall to change the setting. Also there was a mini-bar, although a little bit on the pricy side! After settling in, we walked out of the hotel to a taxi which was waiting outside and took us a very whort ride to leicester ... Read review
