One nighter before Eurostar at London Kings Cross Travelodge
Advantages: Convienient for Eurostar Disadvantages: Not much worked.
This Travelodge is close to Kings Cross station, London. We stayed one night before catching a Eurostar from St Pancras early the following morning. We booked online several months in advance and paid £49 for a double room, more than we would usually pay for a Travelodge, but this was central London. We were offered breakfast when we checked in but declined as we were leaving so early. I thought that the building was the nicest Travelodge we have ... ...housing offices. This conversion did however mean that our room was on the fifth floor, and the lift only went to the fourth floor, we then had to walk up some very windy stairs and narrow corridors to reach our room. Part of the charm for me, but could be difficult for anyone not so steady on their feet. Only one of the two lifts was working. There was a coffee machine in the lobby area but it was marked out of service. When we returned to the hotel ...

An uncomfortable night's sleep on a sofa bed, not exactly luxury!
Advantages: Secure Underground Parking, Friendly staff, 24 hour reception Disadvantages: Sofa bed, unclean kitchenette facilities, small room, over priced.
I stayed at the Citadines with my partner recently following an evening out in Angel. Booking was easy and we found a good deal on LateRooms.com for a spacious double room on a Saturday night at £92.
As I used to work in the area I knew the location of the hotel well so we drove down and arrived at the Citadines with the minimal amount of hassle.
There is secure parking at the Citadines which costs £25 for the night we stayed however, when we arrived ... ...not recommend Citadines Barbican to anyone else.
In conclusion, although the parking was secure and the staff very friendly the room was overpriced, uncomfortable and poorly described therefore if anyone is looking for somewhere to stay I would suggest one of the many other cheaper hotels in the area. ...

Cozy and very central
Advantages: cozy and very central Disadvantages: none
...central, this B&B reflected totally the idea of old style English house! Wood floor, painstaking old furniture and very good breakfast, including bio/local products and options also for vegans or vegetarians. The bed of the top floor room was very comfortable and the common toilette was clean and spacious with shower & bathtub. There is also a small back yard where guests may have breakfast in the good season.. Ambiente famigliare e molto confortevole, ... ...

Home Base for Traveling with a Grandchild
Advantages: Comfortable, clean, pleasant ambience, elbow room Disadvantages: Lacks many traditional hotel facilities and services, such as room service and baggage storage
...trip planner, I selected the New Linden, a small hotel straddling Bayswater and Notting Hill, not far north of Kensington Gardens. The location was handy for buses and the tube, easily facilitating our forays around and about London.
In the end, that choice came down to space and price. I wanted a space that would provide both our grandson and us with an opportunity for privacy, and I wanted to do so without paying the usual London prices for a ... ...of our quad.
The New Linden is listed on various hotel sites at 2, 3, or 4 stars. Take your pick. I venture to approximate 3 stars based on its lack of urban hotel facilities. In the final analysis, however, it’s the experience that counts. Based on our experience, we would happily return to this charming hotel. It combines convenience with value for money, and we left with happy memories. Who could ask for more? ...

Ibis Euston - good deals to be had
Advantages: Good location, not too noisy, good value if on offer Disadvantages: Slow check in
...for a double room at Ibis Euston on a Saturday in late November. The standard rate advertised outside the hotel is £129 so this represents a good saving. Although we were traveling into and out of Kings Cross we were happy enough to stay at Euston as the hotel is right beside Euston mainline and tube stations and only a ten minute walk from Kings Cross/St. Pancras. There’s a handy little short cut from the main station concourse onto Melton Street ... ...to carry. Ibis Euston compares favourably with other branches of the chain I have stayed in. The rooms are basic but comfortable and I was impressed with the standard of cleanliness. It’s a useful location for several mainline train stations and only a twenty minute walk from the west end if you prefer not to use the bus or underground. There’s very little in the way of additional facilities but chances are if you’re a tourist in London you aren’t ...
