Hilton Hotel, Gatwick
Review of Hilton London Gatwick Airport, London by martinwi

Advantages: Right on the Airport doorstep and connected via walkways.
Disadvantages: NOT cheap!

...Consider signing up for the Hilton Honors card before you go. Its free but will enable you to get to check in or out quicker than other people. BOTTOM LINE: Good Point: You can walk to the airport in about 5 mins so NO fiddleing about with getting curtsey buses! Bad Point: It'll cost a bit more than other hotels but the convenience of the location could well make up for it. ... Read review

Funkiest hotel in London?
Review of Sanderson, London by newty1977

Advantages: Very modern, trendy, full of stars
Disadvantages: Prententious City and very expensive !!

"Sanderson Hotel" 50 Berners Street London W1T 3NG Telephone - 0207 300 1400 Fax - 0207 300 1401 Firstly, I really am not sure whether I am going to find enough superlatives to accurately describe this hotel, but we'll see how we go… ~~~~~~~ Location ~~~~~~~ The hotel is located on the northern tip of Soho on Berners Street, just off Oxford Street. The nearest tube station would be Oxford Circus, but Tottenham Court Road would not be too ...
...park my car when I travel to London, Oxford Circus is an easier tube stop for me to get to this particular hotel. As you walk up Berners Street, with Oxford Street to your rear, then the hotel is located approximately 200 yards on the left hand side, beyond The Berners hotel, that you may note on the right hand side. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ History & Style of Hotel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The hotel is an old office / warehouse of the textiles company ... Living in luxury
Review of Hilton London Metropole, London by edward_stapleton

Advantages: Comfort, helpful staff
Disadvantages: Expensive food, checking out!

INTRODUCTION The Hilton London Metropole hotel is situated about 10 minutes walk down the Edgeware Road from Oxford Street. It is conveniently close to the Edgeware Road Tube Station and many bus links. Marylebone train station is about 20 minutes walk away, or 5 minutes on the bus. ENTRANCE The entrance of this Hilton hotel is beautifully classy. After you have walked through a dark marble exterior entrance, and crossed a small taxi bypass, you ...
...step into the rotating entrance door. As you walk onto the marble flooring, you are met with a fairly dimly lit, but marvellous hallway. There is a bar and seating area to your right, a concierge desk straight in front of you and the check-in desks are to your left. The multi-lingual staff on the check-in arrange a room for you and hand over an electronic card to you, which is used to enter your room. FACILITIES There are many facilities at the ... Read review

Needs it's star rating reviewed!
Review of Thistle Selfridge, London by Aeris_Cloud

Advantages: V close to Oxford Street and the shops
Disadvantages: Untrained staff, musty smell, bad value for money

My Husband and I stayed here for the weekend (13-15th July 2007), we purchased a theatre package online and this was the hotel chosen for us. ON ARRIVAL: Upon arrival at the hotel, it looked very grand from the street and was attached to Selfridges. A top-hatted doorman opened the door for us, and wished us good afternoon. Once we entered the hotel, the welcome stopped there really. Wanting to check in, we approached what turned out to be the concierge's ...
...desk was. CHECKING IN: I can confidently say that all the staff manning reception were extremely unqualified in customer service - although I must point out that there were two European girls working at times and they were excellent, showing the English up! We were asked for our credit card for a £75.00 retainer on the room (although I don't know why as there was no mini-bar or anything else of value we could have destroyed or nicked in the room). ...
