Diamond review   Radisson SAS Portman Hotel
Review of Radisson SAS Portman Hotel, London by rickyshah

Advantages: Location, Location, Location
Disadvantages: Pricey-ish

This weekend just gone me and the missus thought we'd go off on a short break in London. We chose the SAS Portman Hotel since its location was fab and the price fell within our budget of £300 for 2 nights. We had heard only good things about this one so we booked at Lastminute and paid £240 for a Superior room with breakka. Or breakfast, in English. If we had booked through the hotel's own website it would be nearer £300. Where is it, then? The ...
...tube station. It has easy access by tube, since Marble Arch, Bond Street and Oxford Circus are within walking distance, and many buses stop nearby. Even night buses! I don't need to tell you how good Oxford Street is for shopping.... but I will. All the major chains are there, plus its home to some of the biggest department stores in the country. Selfridges, Debenhams and House of Fraser all have their flagship stores on this street, so you can certainly ... Read review

A Little London Luxury
Review of Crowne Plaza Hotel St. James, London by Collingwood21

Advantages: The room, The location, The reception service
Disadvantages: The breakfast

...of the upmarket hotel chain Crowne Plaza (www.ichotelsgroup.com). I was unfamiliar with the brand, but noted that they described their hotels as "truly stylish", "unique" and with a "comfortable environment with a high level of professional yet discreet service", suggesting that any one of their establishments would certainly fit the criterion of being memorable. The advertised offer was available for May outside of the aforementioned holidays only, ...
...London location - at the Crowne Plaza St James. The offer rate was valid for standard rooms only (rather than superior rooms or suites) and began at £60 per night including breakfast for up to two adults, varying up to around £100 per night for those hotels that had higher non-offer rates; we paid £95 a night for our room. To me, this still seems like quite a lot of money, but a quick search on google showed that staying in the nearest Holiday Inn ... Read review

County Hall
Review of Premier Travel Inn London - County Hall, London by dpw22

Advantages: Good price, friendly staff, good location, good meals, quiet
Disadvantages: No wheelchair access at the front

...the London tourist attractions. The Premier Inn County Hall Hotel fit the bill and also delivered so much more. I caught a taxi from the train station and the first thing that I noticed when getting there was that the part of Belvedere Road in which the hotel is situated has barriers at either end so only traffic that has a reason for being there is allowed in...this makes the front of the hotel quieter than most places in London. The building also ...
...had been reserved through the Premier Inn website and so it was just a matter of paying for the room with a credit card. Check in is not until after 2pm but you can drop off your luggage for free while you take in some of the sights. The lifts are clean and very smooth - these can only be accessed with a room keycard so remember to have your with you at all times. The rooms are very nice especially considering the price. My room included a double ... Read review

A Quality Hotel at a Sensible Price
Review of Chamberlain Hotel, London by sbenbow

Advantages: Great for a quiet weekend break in London
Disadvantages: Can be too quiet if you are in London for the "night life"

...breakfast): http://www.benbow.org.uk/chamberlain.htm The Chamberlain is in the business district of London, so it is quiet at the weekends (and there are not many restaurants open). This was ideal for us, as we are light sleepers, and it meant a really good nights sleep. The tube is literally 60 seconds around the corner, so for daytrips and evening meals we were able to go out and about easily (even with my wife in high heels), and London was our ...
...The continental breakfast at The Chamberlain was really good too. A nice selection of items. The croissants and cinamon danish's were fresh, and there was a good selection of meat, cheeses, rolls, and toast. Although we checked out on Sunday morning, we were able to keep our bags at the hotel until Sunday evening. This was great, as it meant we didn't have to lug our suitcases all around London (and Harrods!). I would recommend the hotel to anyone, ... Read review

The Jurys
Review of Jurys Great Russell Street, London by slater2130

Advantages: Central and nice staff
Disadvantages: None

Lovely hotel in prime location in London. Perfect if you wish to be central to pretty much everything. Grt Russell street is light off the most hectic streets so acts as a bit of a retreat from the hussel and bussel. Wonderful service at the hotel and really try to look after their guests. On my first stay to the Jurys, i booked online, and through no fault of the hotel the booking had an error. So the General Manager kindly offered us a better ...
...for service. we also recieved a free up grade to an executive suite, which i have to say. Little details and touches make this a really nice place to stay. such as speaker in the bathroom from the TV and Radio system. NOthing nicer to have a soak in the bath with a little bit of music ...
