...The room London hotels are noted, probably, for two things; high prices and small rooms. Here, I thought that the price was good for what we got. The room, also, was by no means cramped. ...Churchill now managed by the Hyatt is one of the best London hotels. Hotel facilities: famous Cigar bar, recently opened (2005) Montagu Restaurant, one of the best italian restaurants in the city Locanda Locatelli, wi-fi internet, health club, hairdresser, tennis court on Portman Square, attentive security and so on. Advantages: Short walk to Covent Garden & Oxford St
Disadvantages: little or no nightlife close by

Call me old-fashioned, but we knew this was going to be good when we spotted a bowl of miniature Toblerones sitting at reception. The hotel is located in Holburn, on the edge of the business district, and is around 10 minutes walking to Oxford Circus/Covent Garden. The tube station, literally around the corner, is on the central line to Oxford Circus too. The room was beautiful. Not minimalist like a lot of places with gimmicky 'young and hip' ...
...that in the feel of the room and not the decor or the furnishings, all of which were pristine. The marble bathroom had an incredibly powerful shower, along with a larger than average bath. The only drawback was the view - our room over-looked an office building. I have not stayed at the hotel for over 2 years, but the one thing the Grosvenor House has always prided itself on is an extremely high standard of service and a very high attention to detail, which I have found has been extended to me on numerous occasions. We recently stayed in the Hoxton Hotel a few weeks ago after getting it in one of their £1 sales (I'll come on to that later) and we loved every minute of it! The hotel itself is still fairly new and calls itself an 'Urban Lodge'. It only opened in late 2006 and for a long time was booked up solid due to a lot of good reviews from the press and customers who managed to get a room there. ...3 months of so the Hoxton hotel has a £1 sale where they release 5 rooms per night at £1 to be booked over a 3 month period. For example, they had a sale in April where you could book rooms between 1 May - 31 July. They only have 500 rooms available so you need to be quick.
