Grange St. Paul's is an amazing hotel!
Advantages: Amazing, all round Disadvantages: None!
This hotel is undoubtedly the best I have ever stayed in. Here's why...
We booked this hotel as a top secret hotel through lastminute.com, paying £86 for the room for the night of Saturday 26th Septmeber 2009. For anyone who isn't familiar with lastminute's top secret system you basically get a star rating and description, but not the name of the hotel before you book. However, for London hotels if you put the description into Google you can easily ... ...what we were getting before we booked.
We arrived by Tube from King's Cross station to St. Paul's Underground station. From here the hotel is fairly easy to find. Just follow the signs for the cathdral then look for Godliman Street on the other side of the cathedral and you can't miss it. The transport links to the hotel are good - St. Paul's Underground station is perhaps not the best served but it is easy to make links to all of the major sightseeing ...

Tea and cakes for 12 please
Advantages: Attentive service, delicious food. Disadvantages: A little pricey, the temptation to just keep on eating.....
It was my Aunts 60th birthday and as a treat for her and her close female friends and family, we were all invited to Afternoon Tea at Claridges.
Afternoon Tea is held daily from 3pm until 5:30pm and this is something you have to book in advance, either over the phone or using the online booking form. As I didn't do this I can't comment on how easy or difficult it was. We totaled 12 and were sat on a long narrow table in a spacious area of the room. ... ...I didn't pay too much attention - sorry! - but it was very ornate, high ceilings, a bit art deco and surprisingly not as 'posh' as I thought it would be. There was lots of space between the tables of which there were many and above the buzz of conversation you could hear someone playing the piano. ~ Tea, Sandwiches and Cakes ~
There were a few menus dotted on the table, of course I can't list every single tea (there were about 4 sides of A5 paper ...

Renaissance Chancery Court- Impressive or Overpriced??
Advantages: Exceptional service Disadvantages: Tired rooms
...to held at the prestigious Renaissance Chancery Court Hotel, a world renowned luxurious Marriot hotel in the heart of London. Not far from Covent Garden, I was treating this beautiful hotel as a little weekend getaway. By means of an introduction I would say my feelings are mixed, and here are the reasons why. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
BOOKING
Through the boyfriend’s work we could get a special rate to stay ... ...to the website to book a room. However, upon visiting www.renaissancechancerycourt.co.uk I found that the code for a room would not work. Therefore we decided to pay a visit to the hotel itself. When we entered the hotel to book the staff were extremely helpful, but again we encountered problems. To book a room apparently you need a credit card, which is common in many major hotels. Sadly neither me or my partner own a credit card, meaning we could ...

London's first and best boutique hotel
Advantages: Style, service, attention to detail, discretion Disadvantages: Some rooms are small
Blakes Hotel is a perfect London base for those seeking style and substance.
Some of the rooms might be small, but the unique and amazing taste of perfectionist Anouska Hempel has created a boutique hotel that just cannot be beaten.
For those on an extravagant budget, the well run restaurant serves an excellent evening meal that is perfect for those seeking to impress. With a pan-Asian menu that changes daily, be sure to try the lamb or curry if ... ...Chinese Room are the perfect places to entertain over drinks and having held a party there, I cannot fault the impeccable service from George and Octavio.
If looking for a hotel in West London and especially if you seek discretion and style, Blakes should be your number one choice. ...

Marriott Grosvenor House
Advantages: Location Disadvantages: Cost
Currently under-going extensive refurbishment, as the hotel rebrands to a JW Marriott.
I have not stayed at the hotel for over 2 years, but the one thing the Grosvenor House has always prided itself on is an extremely high standard of service and a very high attention to detail, which I have found has been extended to me on numerous occasions.
Afternoon tea in the Palm Court whilst the resident harpist serenades the audience is one of the most ... ...the Ritz hotel, located around the corner on London's Piccadilly. Cuban cigars and Scottish whisky are certainly the order of the evening in the relaxation and ambient warmth of the Red bar, a typically small and homely cigar and whisky bar, located off the Palm Court bordering Park Lane. ...
