Review of Ibis London Earls Court, London by teacosy84

Advantages: price, modern bathroom
Disadvantages: general state of repair and cleanliness, staff language barriers

...you first get to the Ibis you are presented with an oppressing concrete box (although it was raining which didn't help its image...). You head across the rather tired looking foyer to a desk manned by (on our visit) staff who's English wasn't the best. After 25 minutes watching the receptionist look rather confused, tutting and asking us the same questions repeatedly (the lady had apparently no idea how to process booking which had been done through ...
...up to our room via a rickety lift. The corridors reminded me of an old school; in a bad state of repair, threadbare carpet and a funny smell. The room itself wasn't at all bad, quite modern fixtures, in a good state of repair, the bathroom and majority of the living space was clean. The only issue we had was some suspicious looking hairs and stains on the bed. Due to it only being a quick visit we did not try the food, so I cannot comment on that. ... Read review

Hilton Olympia ends up on Medallists' Podium
Review of Hilton London Olympia, London by andymcf

Advantages: Comfortable, friendly and pretty stylish London hotel
Disadvantages: The movie channel didn't work properly. Minor criticism.

Hilton fan, though I may well appear to be, it was Priceline who, at a very reasonable £45 for the night, selected this hotel for me. Rarely, I was away-from-home-alone at a Meet-and-Greet in London and I'd booked the stay well in advance. The price was exceptional value, and being an Hhonors Gold VIP, I was pleased to have been allocated to the Hilton, even if its location was not entirely convenient for my proposed meeting on the other side of ...
...buses and tubes (ie underground trains), so what the hell? I was a very happy bunny. And then Al Q'aeda (it's alleged) decided to start bombing London - specialising, in a somewhat incompetent fashion, in tubes and buses. I thought long and hard. Do I avoid the terror and stay at home, or do I make a statement and go to meet what turned out to be a group of really nice people who'd congregated from miles and miles away? At the eleventh hour, I decided ... Read review

You Can't Polish A Turd.
Review of St. Giles Hotel,, London by TheWizardsSleeve

Advantages: location
Disadvantages: jaded, numbers of guests

***Why The St Giles?*** Back in September 2007 my wife and I had decided we would like to go to London for the weekend and at the same time take in a show. After further investigation, we also realised that The Terracotta Army was on show at The British Museum and a Tutankhamun exhibition at the 02 Arena so we wanted a hotel that was adjacent to most things on our to do list, close access to Euston as well as having easy access to the tube. We chose ...
...google search we did, had some decent reviews, offered an all in one price for the hotel and a show and was in a fabulous location. ***Location*** They say the three most important things for a hotel is location, location, location but I feel that location is relative. After all, an establishment cannot be located everywhere but the St Giles succeeds in being as good a location for a hotel as any I have ever been to. The location is without a doubt ... Read review

Holiday Inn Kensington Forum
Review of Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum, London by jonesri

Advantages: Near tude station, modern hotel
Disadvantages: Expensive car parking

...had booked was in the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum (for anyone who has never seen this site before I recommend reading some of the reviews on it, it will save you loads of money.). The only downside to the site is that you don’t know what the hotel is until you have booked it so I was relieved to see that it was part of the Holiday Inn chain and felt confident of having a pleasant stay. ** Background ** The Holiday Inn chain of hotels is owned ...
...company include Crown Plaza and Holiday Inn Express. According to the TV message in the hotel room this Holiday Inn is the tallest hotel in UK (27 Floors) and is also the largest Holiday Inn in the world. It is certainly an impressive hotel and has been renovated as recently as last year (2003). ** General Appearance and Location ** The hotel is ideally located close to Gloucester Road Tube Station, which offers easy access to multiple tube lines ... Home from Holmes. Highly Recommended.
Review of Langham Hotel, London by andymcf

Advantages: Opulent. Friendly. Clean, luxurious home from home
Disadvantages: No in-room tea / coffee making facilities; expensive room service

...most enjoyable stay at the Langham Hilton. One of the flagship hotels of the European branch of the Hilton group, I had read several reviews of this hotel and - these being fairly negative - entered the portals with my eyes wide open. I was expecting poor, arrogant service. Wrong - the service was helpful, friendly and efficient. I was expecting tiny rooms. Wrong, again! Read on! So - Why visit the Langham? There are several answers. Firstly, it ...
...marble bathroom with monogrammed fluffy Langham Hilton bathrobes and slippers, an excellent bath and shower and fully supplied with lovely "Penhaligon" toiletries. And then more stairs, leading to a private drawing room with setee, table, another minibar, colour TV with SKY channels, and - up a few more steps - a writing desk with writing paper, envelopes, a high-speed internet connection and one of several telephones. Look hard enough and you'll ... Read review
