Disadvantages: Temperature control in room (we were very hot), drinks prices in bar a little steep even for central London.

...that while staying at the Copthorne Tara, the district and circle lines are running as unfortunately during my stay they were under maintenance for 2 of the days. In this case the nearest station was Notting Hill, which was around a 30 minute walk away (not good when wearing high heals to go to the theatre). This hotel was a mixed bag. I stayed with a colleague for business purposes. We stayed for one night, mid-week on April 7th 2008. I stayed in a room on the second floor and my colleague was on the first floor. On the plus side - If you want a hotel close to a tube station, this is perfect. I booked two single rooms for myself and a colleague, we both got double rooms, which were spacious. The bed was comfortable, linen clean, water hot and the bathroom was clean. ...in London and picked this Novotel for its location as we thought it would be closer (or have easier acces to transports) to the centre of London. It is actually not too far, but not exactly in Waterloo, more like a 10-15 minutes walk from it. It is not so close to the main tube lines either, so we were a bit disappointed on that part, although we checked on maps before booking.
