Best Holiday Inn in London
Advantages: London on your doorstep
Disadvantages: not a bargain
...it. Although it is a holiday inn, it is relatively small and in a lovely old building. It has a very appealing garden terrace which backs on to the grounds of a nearby convent and it is very pleasant and peaceful to sit outside. ...very friendly and always remember me which I think is nice, considering how many people pass through their doors. The food is good enough and the bar is comfortable. The hotel is just opposite gloucester road tube station and very near earls court and olympia. Great for shopping, great for business and if booked online room rates are as cheap as £89 per room, per night. Excellent value in central London. ...

Grange City Hotel - a rare experience in the busy city
Advantages: position, views, staff, interior
Disadvantages: expensive (although menus are well priced) rooms smallish

The Grange City Hotel is located in the city close to Fenchurch Street Station and Tower Bridge. it is a fantastic location for both Business visitors, (close to Lloyds of London and the Gherkin), and also for tourists. Facilities wise they have an amasing range for a hotel in the middle of the city, they have a spa and a huge swimming pool which is a rareity in the area, they also have a private room for you to practice your golf swing. ...

Great Expectations - and they were exceeded
Advantages: Very clean and new - luxury standards for a good price (when booking online)
Disadvantages: Not on the nicest street, but fairly central
I stayed at the Saint Gregory hotel in February 2007, having booked a room online. As it was not part of a major chain and I had not heard of it before I was a little bit wary about booking a room there, but as we were only staying one night and the online rate we received was very reasonable (around £70), having visited their well-designed website I decided to give it a try.

...the street the hotel is on isn't the nicest and looks a bit run down. I think the area must be on the up however as the hotel is quite new and is really good quality. Advantages: Central Location
Disadvantages: Can be noisy as on busy road
A brillaint hotel with lovely food. Next to Victoria mainline station and underground station. Also situated across the road from the bus station. 10minutes walk from Buckingham palace and about 15 from Downing street. Local shops and souvenir shops are 2 minutes walk away. Short stay ok, if don't mind unfriendly staff
Advantages: not too far from main attractions
Disadvantages: really unfriendly staff
...in London and picked this Novotel for its location as we thought it would be closer (or have easier acces to transports) to the centre of London.
It is actually not too far, but not exactly in Waterloo, more like a 10-15 minutes walk from it. It is not so close to the main tube lines either, so we were a bit disappointed on that part, although we checked on maps before booking. Still (unless you are carrying heavy luggage and don't like walking), ...
...hotel and went to the Novotel reception to ask. I was looked at by the receptionist as if i were an idiot. I even apologised for asking before I left. She could just have said 'no, sorry', without acting like I was asking for the moon!
I cannot tell about the sauna as we didn't stay long enough to try it.
The check out was actually our best experience with the hotel staff, the young man was smily, and very friendly.
