Review of Green Court Hotel, London by gollygumdrops

Advantages: Location, price
Disadvantages: Rather Icky

The Green Court Hotel is situated on Hogarth Road, between the Earls Court and Cromwell Road. This location occasionally causes the Green Court to get over excited and claim it is based in Kensington. The Hotel is run by a man who looks suspiciously like the shopkeeper out of Mr Ben. It is a fascinating place to stay. Luggage arrives and leaves throughout the day, rarely accompanied by guests. At lunchtime most weekdays a man walks down the street ...
...walking distance of Earls Court and Olympia, along with The Natural History and Science Museum. This hotel is fine if you are with someone and are paying your own way. If your company books you in to the Green Court, do the decent thing and leave – now! ... Read review

NICE HOTEL AND GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY
Review of Adria Hotel, London by SHAR-RON

Advantages: VALUE FOR MONEY, CLEAN & CONVENIENTLY SITUATED
Disadvantages: NO OFF ROAD PARKING

The Adria is a nice little hotel which is conveniently situated a couple of minutes walk from Hammersmith tube station. We found it great value for money, paying £65 per night for an en-suite double room which was basic but comfortable, very clean and had tons of storage space, something i've found to be missing from other hotels i've stayed in. There is a choice of continental or full English breakafast (£3 and £5 respectively), we went for the ...
...The only negative about the Adria is there is no off road parking and the car park across the road is very expensive, but we found that if you park in the streets at the rear of the hotel, Sat and Sun parking is free which saved us a fortune. Would definitely recommend to others. ... Read review

Excellent Curry - in a Pub
Review of The Tiffin Room at the India Arms, Southsea, Hampshire by denella

Advantages: Excellent food
Disadvantages: Erratic service

...back to Southsea in 1999, the India Arms was about two minutes' walk from where I lived but I never visited it because my sons went there and it definitely had a reputation as a student pub. On moving back to Southsea again in 2007, I was surprised to learn that the largest room in the pub had been converted into an Indian restaurant called the Tiffin Room which was fast earning a reputation for serving the best Indian cuisine in either Portsmouth ...
...share them amongst yourselves. By the time of my first visit in late summer, however, all this had changed and the menu was organised in the traditional format of starter, main course and dessert. I remember choosing Old Madras lamb chops, unusual for me as I am not a great fan of red meat, but they were absolutely delicious. My second visit to the Tiffin Room came eight months later, at 7.30 one Saturday evening. My son and his partner had been ... Read review

The grand-ish Strand
Review of The Strand Palace Hotel, London by watkins11

Advantages: location, location, location!
Disadvantages: Work in progress

...had might as well make the most of our adventure and booked a show and stay theatre trip. After reading up on the choice of hotels, we opted for the 3 star Strand Palace as it a) looked pretty swanky from the photo, b) was only 5 minutes from the Adelphi where Joseph was playing c) was cheaper than some of the others AND included breakfast! Bargain. Our cab driver was extremely friendly, commended us on our hotel choice and quickly pointed out how ...
...cuts through the streets to get to the Thames bank quickly - oh yes, we had also booked a trip on the London Eye - which would save us a fortune in taxi fare. We were dropped off right at the huge glass frontage of the building and by this stage I was rather pleased with our choice of hotel. Lobby After climbing a few steps we found ourselves in a not so large lobby, which contained the concierge desk, 3 elevators with classy gold doors, ... Read review

Not bad, but not brilliant either
Review of Queens Hotel, London by C-J-C

Advantages: Cheap, reasonably convienient
Disadvantages: slightly worn out, basic

I recently had a trip to London with a friend, and since I have been in hotels in and around London before, I was tasked with finding us accommodation for 3 nights. I knew that we would be using the hotel for bed and breakfast only, so wasn't going to waste our money on anything too fancy. After a little searching I found this hotel on a site at just over £30 a night, coming to £108 in total per person. This was for double, en-suit rooms with breakfast ...
...pretty much right. The hotel is far from perfect, but then I've thought the same about many hotels I've paid a fair bit more to stop in, including 4 star ones. The rooms were spacious, as expected for doubles, but basic, with a TV (5 channels only, and not a great signal despite being right near the Crystal Palace transmitter), desk, tea and coffee making facilities and a bathroom with bath and shower. They have seen better days, the carpets were ... Read review
