Sleeping Beauty Motel, London
Advantages: Clean, staff polite Disadvantages: Area its located in
Not too bad, but in my opinion, its not in such a great part of town.
OK if you are parking in the car park then staying put in the hotel, no local sites to see, wouldnt want to be walking around this area after dark.
Found it very noisey, the road that its located on is a very busy road and the noise from it is constant.
By train, its not far to underground or overground stations.
Walthamstow market again, is not too far away there is also a ...

Poor service, tacky interior, otherwise OK...
Advantages: Convenient location for Canary Wharf visitors Disadvantages: Poor service, bizarre interior styling
I've staid at the Britannia for more than 50 nights over the past few years. The one thing I learned from this is that, actually, the other reviewers of this hotel were not having bad luck. The hotel is spectacularly tacky (think what would happen if you give a big interior design budget to East Enders' Peggy Mitchell) and service is consistently worse than any similarly-priced London hotel. The rooms themselves are quite OK, if you don't mind the ... ...what makes this hotel truly unique is not the interior design but the blend of 'don't care/whatever' attitude of staff and the fact that their booking system is based on chaos theory. It is very common to spend 10-15 minutes (which is long, in real time) waiting to check in. You have a 15% chance of your booking not being found (which is a big risk, in real life) and a near-100% chance of seeing some other guests being driven to desperation because ...

Good value for money
Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: You get what you pay for......
I recently stayed at the Queens Hotel at the end of November, and to be honest it was absolutely fine. I had booked it at the last minute, just a few hours before check in, and everything went smoothly. Check was easy and without complication. As for the room, it had everything I needed considering I was only staying for a couple of nights by myself, and most of the time I was out anyway. It was clean, which is important, and there was a working ... ...when I turned the shower on, the shower head fell straight off, completely soaking the bathroom and spraying water everywhere. However, this was easily fixed by myself.
Breakfast was fine, just usual kind of toast, cereals....basically what you would expect, and there is always Sainsburys just around the corner. Staff were generally willing to help, although didn't seem particularly welcoming. At night it was slightly noisy, as I had a room right ...

Hilton Olympia ends up on Medallists' Podium
Advantages: Comfortable, friendly and pretty stylish London hotel Disadvantages: The movie channel didn't work properly. Minor criticism.
Hilton fan, though I may well appear to be, it was Priceline who, at a very reasonable £45 for the night, selected this hotel for me. Rarely, I was away-from-home-alone at a Meet-and-Greet in London and I'd booked the stay well in advance. The price was exceptional value, and being an Hhonors Gold VIP, I was pleased to have been allocated to the Hilton, even if its location was not entirely convenient for my proposed meeting on the other side of ... ...buses and tubes (ie underground trains), so what the hell? I was a very happy bunny. And then Al Q'aeda (it's alleged) decided to start bombing London - specialising, in a somewhat incompetent fashion, in tubes and buses. I thought long and hard. Do I avoid the terror and stay at home, or do I make a statement and go to meet what turned out to be a group of really nice people who'd congregated from miles and miles away? At the eleventh hour, I decided ...

Location isn't everything
Advantages: Fantastic location, you're never far away from anything. Cheap. Disadvantages: Rude staff, rooms in a state, out of date amenities, broken equipment.
I booked this room just as somewhere to put my head down for the night after a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I wanted somewhere cheap(ish) in Kensington so I could walk it and not venture onto the tube in the forbidden hours. I found it via www.hoteldirect.com and it cost me £70 for a double room for one night, including a continental breakfast. So, here's a review.
LOCATION
If you're going to the Albert Hall and you're on a budget, this hotel ... ...Road and probably around 10-15 minutes walking distance from the Albert Hall. There's a Tesco, a Waitrose and a Sainsburys nearby as well as a KFC and a small shopping centre, and it's on the circle line in zone 1, so you are well catered for. Also handy if you have children, since there's always something nearby to keep them entertained. THE STAFF
Now I guess this could simply be a language barrier but I found the reception staff to be rather abrupt ...
