Holiday Inn- all you need for a short stay in London Advantages: Good value for money, well positioned (close to shops, restaurants etc.) Disadvantages: Limited parking, not as modern as many other hotels ...room, in which case the Holiday Inn is a good place to stay. We ordered the full English breakfast each morning- there was a good selection of food and you could take as much as you like. However, the dinner menu was mainly Indian food so there wasn't a great variety to choose from; so we decided to find a nearby restaurant (which there are plenty of). The hotel rooms are spacious and clean with plenty of storage and although the decor was slightly ... ...to other London hotels, the Holiday Inn was very reasonably priced but I would still recommend that you book a room online, since it is considerably cheaper. The Strand Palace Hotel Advantages: Location, toiletries Disadvantages: Expensive if not booked through third party website I've stayed at The Strand Palace a number of times. I generally pay around £85 per night for a double room although I book through a third party as booking directly through the hotel seems to cost in excess of £100 per night. I've no idea why it's listed as 2 star on here given that its 3 star everywhere else. The rooms are a decent size and always clean. The bathroom is stocked with Pascal Morabito toiletries which I appreciate. There's a tv with ... ...With regard to location, the hotel is located on the Strand which is the prime hotspot for theatre-goers. It's very close to Covent Garden and there are a number of London guides provided in the room for those who are new to the city. Top Dollar, bottom drawer Advantages: Location Disadvantages: Value, quality, customer service Top price, bottom drawer At £130, it was top price (okay it was pre-Christmas), but for a tiny double room with remnants of a leak from above (or was it streaks of nicotine from its previous smoking room days?). Only very slim people should share that room! The en-suite bathroom was tucked into the eaves and surely wasn't intended for use by anyone over 5'2" . If that was a "superior" room, I'd hate to see anything less. After a night out, the ... ...baguettes, no food was available after midnight. The day was kick-started at 8am by an over eager maid and again at 8.30am, shortly followed by probably the worst hotel breakfast I've ever not eaten. The surly receptionist wasn't in the slightest bit interested in our disapointment and as we took a cab to the recommended car park (Queens), I reflected on the shame that visitors to our great capital get rinsed like this every day. Staff were great Advantages: food Disadvantages: crowed people I took a lot of searching on the Internet to find this hotel, and I must say that at furst, I was put of by the price, but after staying there, I can say that it was the right choice. Located in central London, this hotel offers a wide variety of facilities, with the rooms being more than large, including and en-suite, and double beds. The food here was brilliant and I didnt have to go and find somewhere else to eat. Food food food Advantages: Food Disadvantages: Not for families I have visited London on many occasions in recent years, and after I discovered this hotel, I knew that I had found the one I would always be staying in. It is such a great hotel, that serves all of my needs. The rooms are fantastic, just the right size. My room didnt have an en-suit bathroom, but to me it didnt really matter that much.
