Champagne lifestyle on lemonade money
Review of Landmark London, London by Angua2

Advantages: Fabulous atrium setting
Disadvantages: During busy times, only guests allowed in Piano Bar

...closed their doors. The Landmark hotel is located on the Marylebone Road and adjacent to Marylebone station. Although on a main road, it is pretty easy to park in most of the side streets late in the evening and at the weekend. The Winter Garden is a huge atrium/piano bar in the centre of the Landmark hotel. The building used to have a courtyard, but was converted with a glass roof at some point and became an atrium. With the stars above you and ...
...it has a fabulous inside-out feel, which I just adore. Although they stop serving dinner at 11.30, you can usually still get small things after this time such as scrambled egg and smoked salmon as well as tea and coffee. Price wise, although by no means cheap (most things are double figures), I had some of my best dates here (during my single years), as it can still work out less than a fancy meal. During busy times, you may get turned away from ... Read review

Its Got A Big Green Sign, You Can't Miss It.
Review of The Brewmaster (London) by hackedoff

Advantages: Food & Beer in the centre of London at a reasonable price
Disadvantages: Its about 100miles from where i live

Last week on the 27th of July i was in London visiting friends and we'd found ourselves in the middle of Leicester Square, having gone there for a bite to eat, i.e. KFC. But we fancied something a little stronger to drink than coke and fortunately we'd spotted "The Brewmaster" at Leicester Sq. tube station. And when i mean at the tube station its situated next door to one of the entrances and part of it actually covers the entrance. So you cant really ...
...we visited the pub it was just for a drink, and they do have the usual wide-ish selection of drinks including lagers, bitter and Real Ale. To be honest with you I only drank Stella and can't remember what other taps they had but it was your usual eight or so taps. With Fosters, Adnams that sort of thing. They also have a good selection of wines and spirits, soft drinks and a small collection of Alchopops including Smirnoff Ice. So your usual pub/bar. ... Read review

Great place, fun, and authentic
Review of Oriental City, London by phalangid

Advantages: Variety, activity, and uniqueness
Disadvantages: Nothing fancy, but that's not why you go here!

...are a furniture store, an oriental (mainly japanese) plate/cup/mug/bowl store, and some other random asian shops. The plate store is very reasonable and has a lot of handmade and unique items in it. The food court is as I said the main thing you'd come here for most likely. Available are: Thai, Korean, Japanese (including sushi), Chinese (several regional varieties), Malaysian, Vietnamese, and some Indian, Pakistani, and Caribbean foods as well. ...
...authentic dishes and SEE them, there are picture menus at each of the restaurants. You order by number, sit in a common food court area, and wait for your number to appear to get your food. The atmosphere is buzzy (not sure what previous reviewer was talking about saying it needs a buzz) and active, this is not the place for a romantic meal (although there are nice restaurants upstairs for that!). It's a good place for cheap eats (2-10 quid depending) ... Read review

Starbucks in St Katharine's Dock London
Review of Starbucks (London) by Spottydog11

Advantages: Great views, great atmosphere, great coffee
Disadvantages: A bit expensive

...and dearest. I think Starbucks is rather like marmite, you either love it or you hate it. Some people hate the fact that they have to pay £3 for a cup of coffee, other people can't get enough. I am definitely in the second camp, I am a Starbucks fan. I think what has captured the world is their relationship with coffee, they like to think of their stores as a "third place", ie the third place you go in this world after home and work and I think ...
...sense of belonging that their houses promote. The store in St Katharine's dock is a beautiful building, it is a round, almost mill looking type building with a dome on top and has two floors. It is fairly small but there is quite a bit of seating with lots of nice comfy seats upstairs. THe same people have worked intheir for a long long time so they recognise you and are always nice and polite. The view is probably the best thing about this location. ... Read review

Who wants to go back to sKool?!
Review of School Disco (London) by pepper8823

Advantages: Great music
Disadvantages: It's a bit of a rip off

...if people liked you. School was a tough time for a lot of people, but apparently there are thousands every week who want to go back and relive it at SchoolDisco.com at Po Na Na nightclub in Hammersmith (Aka, Hammersmith Palais). --------How much?--------- I personally loved school. It was a great time for me. However I did not enjoy School Disco nearly as much as I had hoped. For months we had been planning to go there but it was always called off ...
...and it is mandatory at School Disco to wear school uniform, PE kit or dress as another school character (dinner lady, teacher etc). If you aren't dressed up you don't get in. So we girls spent several hours dressing up in our shortest skirts, funky black tights/over the knee socks, white shirts and school ties and put our hair in all manner or different plaits and bunches. We all decided to wear trainers as we knew it would be a long night with lots ... Read review
