Portion Control
Review of Zizzi by Festus2k

Advantages: Family Friendly; nice Staff
Disadvantages: Small Portions

Went to Zizi's in Milton Keynes with a party of seven yesterday evening (July 5th, 2008) with two small children. We were seated quickly, and found the staff to be very family friendly. The waitress was wonderful. Portions were small considering the prices: 8-10 GBP. Tiramisu for dessert was somewhat short on flavour, tasted OK, but was embarrassingly small; 4.25 GBP for a piece approximately 3 inches square. I asked a manager for an explanation ...
...He quickly sent a double sized portion to the table, but didn't offer another diner at our table having tiramisu the same. Final analysis - Food quality/taste: 7 out of 10; Service 9; Family friendly - 10; value for money: 3. If their portion sizes are standard across the chain, they will be out of business in 3 years, unless they change the model, because the food quality is not good enough to draw the higher income customers in consistently. Cheesy London club
Review of Strawberry Moon (London) by beanie8844

Advantages: good atmosphere
Disadvantages: too busy, dancefloor too small

I spent a night at strawberry moons for a friends birthday a couple of months ago and I must say I was dissapointed with the place. We had been to a few places before and were on the guestlist - upon arrival at the club we had to wait a few minutes because it was very busy but were eventually let through by the door staff. Entry was £10.00 and £2.00 per item in the cloakroom (typical london prices). I had only been inside the club a few minutes when ...
...was ridiculous. I would recommend strawberry moons to people who like cheesy music, but you must be prepared for it to be really busy and had a few drinks before you get in because of the bar siruation. Dress code: smart casual - smart jeans and trainers are ok, but no caps and hoods. Fancy dress is welcome. Prices: Cocktails - £5.65 a glass or £14.95 a pitcher Wine - approx £15-18.00 a bottle Shooters - £4.40 Bottled beer - £2.50 Address: 15 ... Read review

Good club, shame about the doormen
Review of The Works Nightclub, Kingston by beanie8844

Advantages: good music, nice atmosphere, large club
Disadvantages: drinks expensive at weeknds, doormen rude

...out and socialise. One of the nightclubs in Kingston is 'The Works.' When I was slightly younger, about four or five years ago I used to frequently come here, although nowadays I prefer Oceana, Essence or McClusky's. I recently visited the works agin for the first time in a long while and was actually quite impressed by it. The club used to have a bit of a reputation for violence and drugs, although they have done a lot to rid the place of this image ...
...standard in London. Once through the main doors you are asked by the door staff to empty you're pockets and walk through the metal detector to check for knives etc. From here the cloakroom is on the right hand side and straight ahead is the entrance door to the club. The main dance floor is quite large and is situated in the middle of the main room on the ground floor. Downstairs there is also a stage for live acts as well as two medium sized bars ... Yummy Yo! Sushi
Review of Yo! Sushi, 102-104 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London by ivytoad

Advantages: Fun, novel idea, easy to see what you are getting to eat, yummy!
Disadvantages: A little pricey if you eat lots!

...places. One of these was Yo! Sushi which I have been wanting to go to for ages.. so my boyfriend agreed to take me (yay!) Basically, the Yo! Sushi bar consists of an open plan kitchen, and around that was a table that went around the entire thing (in a square - it looked almost like a breakfast bar) and then bar stools that sat around the table. There were a lot of people there when we went in and there are only seats for around 30 people, but ...
...get seated quickly. About a minute later we got a seat, which was great. When we sat down, the system was explained to us by the cashier and we could just tuck in! The food goes around on a conveyor belt around the entire table and you simply pick off the dishes that you want. The dishes are colour coded, this means that all of the food comes on a plastic dish which come in five different colours. These colours indicate the price of your meal. You ... Read review

Planet Hollywood
Review of Planet Hollywood, London by mad.man.560

Advantages: Good surrondings
Disadvantages: Wait to get in

Planet Hollywood is a great place to eat out compared to other places to eat in London. When you walk in you have a nice bar to have a drink and watch a bit of sport. Also when you walk in you can see Will Smith's hand prints and also a Terminator model. The wait to get in can be up to 3 hours so it is best to eat around 4:00 - 5.00 pm when there is only a 15 minute wait when you can have a drink at the bar while you are waiting. Once you are inside ...
...which is in the middle, the bond room and another bit which is quite small. When you are indise you can see all the famous memorabilia including Indiana Jones's whip, Forest Gump's top and Grece Lightining's coat. The menu is very like an American DInner Menu with ribs and burgers etc. The toilets are of very high standered that is why you have to pay to get in there but it is worth the money as they are really clean and decorated well. The food ... Read review
