Spoilt child
Review of Wagamama, Oxford Street, London by shanee

Advantages: great food and cheap
Disadvantages: only in london and one in dublin

I have been frequenting Wagamama restaurants for the last few years or so and have even passed up on expensive Japanese restaurants to have dinner here. It is essentially a noodle bar, with a few rice dishes to keep non-noodle lovers happy. Wagamama means spoilt or naughty child. OK, so you have to queue for a while. But the food more than makes up for it. And now there are quite a few of them around so the queues are rarely as bad as they were before. ...
...only a stone's throw from Oxford Street. The soup dishes are the best, although not in summer as it gets too hot. The gyoza are divine. For rice eaters, I recommend the chicken katsu curry, which is really mild. There are no desserts here, but that doesn't matter as there are other places to go for that. It is a no smoking place, which I think is great. Perfect for a quick meal before going out and doing other things in London. The tables are long, ... Read review

Adams Rib Saftesbury Avenue great place to dine
Review of Adamīs Rib, London by Alison3

Advantages: right in the heart of theatre land, cheap good food
Disadvantages: none

My husband and myself visited Adams Rib on 5th January, after having been to a show. The Reastaurant is situated on Shaftesbury Avenue W1. It is very well placed for the theatres, and the Trocedero is opposite. Further along the road you have China Town. We arrived there at about 6pm and the restaurant was fairly full, but we still managed to get a table by the window, which is where everyone wants to sit. There is a good view out over Shaftesbury ...
...now have to take people for rides in. Its interesting to people watch while waiting to order and eat your food. On arriving we were shown quickly to our table and menus handed to us. The waitress gave us a few minutes then asked what we would like to drink. (red wine and sparkling water). As we were ready, she also took our food order. This is an American style Restaurant, and it is mostly bbq ribs and wings which people choose to eat, but you ... Read review

Misato-Japaness food at reasonable prices
Review of Misato, London by medgenie

Advantages: Good food
Disadvantages: Long queue, small place

When I was doing my master study in London, Misato became my personal "canteen". I am always a big fan of Japanese food which tends to be expensive in London-until I discovered Misato. Located close to Soho and China town, I used to go there for lunch/dinner after doing my Chinese food shopping. It was also one of my favourite place when I went out with my boyfriend. They serve many of the typical Japanese dishes such as grilled eel, katsu curry, ...
...that we could order one and share between us. They also do a variety of udon noodle and ramen noodle and most of all-sushi. The prices are very reasonable and everytime I went there I didnot spend more than 20 pounds-quite bargain. The food is not extraordinary but is good /yummy enough already for a fan of Japanese cuisine like me. The downside of eating there is that it's not a huge place-probably less than 20 tables. Once you finish, the waitress ... Read review

Everyone looks better by candle light
Review of La Poule Au Pot, London by Shoka

Advantages: Very good french food, tucked away so no tourists, candlelit
Disadvantages: Fake french decor a little too much

La Poule Au Pot is a super place for a real french meal. There are many restaurants in London that serve french food, Gordon Ramsey, all the Conrans pretty much, in other words a fair few to pick from. What stands out about La Poule Au Pot is that is actaually a proper french restaurant in that you couldnt mistake the country you are supposed to be tasting the cusine of. From the first site of the restaurant you know its supposed to be French, rustic ...
...theme. The staff are all french and read all the specials in french, and then translate if you like. The inside of the restaurant is wooden floored with various french themed decorations around the restaurant, flowers, onions etc....it certainly isnt a modern restaurant to look at. Rickety chairs, and wooden tables with candles lit even during the day, it certainly has a slightly romantic feel to the restaurant. The menu is classic bistro fare, ... Read review

Eating underneath a mushroom
Review of Pizza Organic, Ealing by earlofaldgate

Advantages: its like travelling in time to the 70's
Disadvantages: you may go by accident

...for another unlucky one Pizza Organic is a small chain owned by Pizza piazza. They have 7 sites based in Ealing, Redhill (Surrey), Old brompton Rd(London), Gloucester Rd(London),Ruislip, Godalming & Beaconsfield. They serve a mostly Italian menu and almost all of their products are Organic. Simply from this I should have known I was making a mistake – its organic, except the ham, pepperoni, blue cheese, salami & fish (which is wild caught) http://www.pizzapiazza.co.uk/ ...
...with mixing your cheese on pizza is that you don’t actually get to taste any of them. This was the case this time, mozzarella was unnoticeable & the red Leicester simply turned the top of the pizza into an orange blob reminiscent of a teenagers face. The pepperoni was bland, garlic unnoticeable, peppers (which I don’t normally manage in pizza express as theyre too hot) very mild. The base was thin and crispy bit a little bit too crispy for my liking ... Read review
