A damned fine pub...sorry
Review of Bram Stoker (London) by jameshale

Advantages: Excellent Gothic atmoshere
Disadvantages: Prices

Bram Stoker can be found on Old Brompton road in South Kensington and offers a supernatural night out...it's just a shame it all finishes at pub closing time. Well thats not strictly true; Bram Stoker hold the occasional theme party which can be devilishly fun. Ok enough of the puns. The decor is as you would expect from a ghoulish theme pub, spiders webs, gargoyles, Dr Jekyl style lab racks, candles and all that. It does look entirely impressive ...
...this pub are the cocktails on offer, these are made up of the usual but with the added '7 deadly sins' cocktails. I recommend sloth for your first then by all means make your way through the whole lot. The menu is also along the same sort of theme and is of good quality. Shots can be distributed in a test tube. As i mentioned earlier there are theme parties. Obviously this is the pub to be seen in at halloween when it puts on an good show, but recently ... Read review

Delicious Japanese noodle soups
Review of Wagamama, Streatham Street, London by clemtuff

Advantages: Cheap (for London standards) & delicous
Disadvantages: Atmosphere and speed

Wagamama! Who doesn't know this famous Japanese noodle bar in London (and now slowly across Europe)? If you don't your missing out! Wagamama calls itself positive eating & positive living. Well first to the eating: I have never had many of the starters (usually cut straight through to the soup), but I can highly recommend the Gyoza. They are little fried dumplings filled with vegetables or meat served with soya sauce (price: approx. 4 pounds). In ...
...for a main course (in over 8 years I have never had anything else)! As I love spicy food I recommend the Chili Chicken Ramen (price: approx. 7 pounds - used to be 5 pounds a few years back) the not so spicy Chicken ramen is also very good. There are also vegetarian soups or soups with meat and fish – all served with ramen noodles. The soups are so delicious they make your nose run and your taste buds keep screaming for more. Deserts: never ... Read review

Languish at Langans
Review of Langan´s Brasserie, London by Shoka

Advantages: Very buzzy, fab for people watching, right next to Green Park Tube
Disadvantages: It isnt cheap

Excuse the cheesy pun of a title but Langans really is a very lazy, loungey type of place. Situated on right of Green Park tube station in London is Stratton Street and half way down on the left is Langans. The reason I first heard of Langans was that my first ever boss used to love the place. He'd get me to book him a table there for lunch with various business associates, and always insisted on a downstairs table. A few years later I had 4 friends ...
...to give the old place a whirl for an evening meal. Booking Langans is very much a media haunt during the day, and possibly a few tourists too because of its location. But in the evenings it seems to be a very mixed crowd. Because I knew how popular the place was I booked up a couple of weeks in advance. I dont think Lagans is as busy as some of the top London places, or rather it is as busy but they dont operate stupid policies like table turning, ... Read review

Stuffguts Has A Fyne Tyme
Review of Loch Fyne, Twickenham, London by BNibbles

Advantages: Excellent "aquatic" menu
Disadvantages: Quite expensive for a bistro atmosphere

...one such occasion. Loch Fyne Restaurants are a national chain of eateries specialising in fish and other seafood. Actually, “national chain” might be too grand a description, since there are currently 22 branches with a heavy South-Of-The-Wash bias, these being - Bath, Beaconsfield, Brighton, Cairndow, Cambridge, Covent Garden, Crouch End, Egham, Elton, Fulham Road, Hadley Highstone, Henley-on-Thames, Knowle, Loughton, Nottingham, Norwich, Oxford, ...
...themselves, cultivated on ropes in Loch Fyne. As they arrived, we wondered whether the complete steamer was a sign that we had been mis-heard, and that a full portion had been ordered. For £4.95 it was exceptional, both in quantity and quality. Mussels can be ordered either in the familiar “marinière” style or steamed in chilli and coriander oil. That basket of wholemeal bread they left with us came in handy, I can tell you – the pan was nearly dry ... Read review

Daj Bog ne v poslednij raz*
Review of Nikita's Russian Restaurant & Bar, London by tazzywazzy

Advantages: VODKA!
Disadvantages: Bit quite, could have been the time of year though

...Tazzy! ~Getting there~ Nikita's closest tube station is Earls Court. Looking at the map it looks fairly close, it is on Ilfield Road, about half way down the east side of the cemetery, so we decided to walk. I would not suggest walking, it is a good 20 min walk, walking at a decent pace. I think it took us about half to three quarters of an hour. I would suggest going to Earls Court and then catching a cab to the restaurant, this would probably ...
...company....who wants to go to Nikita's with Tazzy? Anyone? *For anyone that is interested the translation of my title (which is a toast) means "Hopefully it's not the last time we drink, with God's help" - thought that was quite fitting for me! Thanks for reading, sorry it's a bit long, think I have too much time on my hands here at work! x ... Read review
