The Black Horse, Old Bolingbrooke, Lincolnshire
Review of The Black Horse, Old Bolingbrooke by bostonianbeer

Advantages: Great atmosphere, welcome, food and beer.
Disadvantages: Not nearer to where we live.

...for walks in Lincolnshire visiting the local pubs for a well earned rest. On one of our walks we came across The Black Horse at Old Bolingbrooke. It is a great little pub. First to get to Old Bolingbrooke you need to travel along the A.16 from Boston towards Keal Hill and Spilsby and turn off just before the hill towards Mavis Enderby. Some great names for this part of the country the, Lincolnshire Wolds. The area also had a great number of Air ...
...you can still see where the runways used to be if you look. The Black Horse is in the centre of the village, and when we visited the air smelt of coal fires, something I have not smelt for years and took me straight back to my childhood. You enter the pub by the door on the front of the building and the dining room is off to the left, and the bar off to the right. Neither are very big, but the welcome is very warm and friendly, always a plus. ... Read review

IF YOU LIKE YOUR GIUSEPPES SLOPPY
Review of Pizza Express, Museum Street, London by flashpointz

Advantages: Perfect Pizzas and Plenty of Pasta products
Disadvantages: none

...a great fan of chain Pizza parlours generally. Certainly Pizza Hut has it’s uses, but ‘authentic italian’ it is NOT. Thus, I had never ventured inside a Pizza Express restaurant, expecting – quite wrongly in this case – that it would be another of the Pizza-clones. Pizza Express was founded in the 1960's with one humble restaurant near Museum Street, London, WC2. They aimed to offer good, wholesome, authentic Italian-style pizza and some Jazz. The ...
...have to look on the Pizza Express website (more of that later) to see their virtual obsession with the style of music. Founder Peter Boizot, is now a millionaire and past Chairman of Peterborough Utd Football Club. Anyway, I first found my nearest Pizza Express virtually by accident, definitely not by design, nor choice. I was booked to do some photos at a couple’s family get together after their return from getting married in a far flung place. ... Read review

Gatwick airport Mc Donald's
Review of McDonalds, Gatwick Airport by jacko1447

Advantages: open 24 hours
Disadvantages: old food being sold to un suspecting customers

I work at Gatwick Airport mainly late shift or through the night and I urge you Not to eat from Mc Donald's on the top level before departures. For Instance if you buy a big mac at midnight you would get the impression that the burger has just been made well think again it was made at 7pm yes 5 hours before. Most of the food up until 6am is the day before and you can gey an upset stomach as most of my mates at work have found out, the staff are ... Read review

I will have to be richer to drink at the Pitcher
Review of Pitcher & Piano (London) by duskmaiden

Advantages: tasty food, central location, good mocktails
Disadvantages: ricy, imagine it could get busy at peaktimes, unreadable bar pumps

...selling overpriced lager. Pitcher and Piano is a chain of 27 bars. There is one in Manchester on Lower Mosley Street but I have never been in it and actually am not sure I have ever seen it (even though I worked around there for three moths). Thus my first experience of a Pitcher and Piano was a couple of weekends ago as the Trafalgar Square branch was the location for the wonderful Ciao Meet organised by Lizkempo. The location of this bar is perfect. ...
...sure. I liked the Pitcher and Piano for a Saturday afternoon drink at an organised event like the meet however I am not sure how much I would like it in a peak period on a weekend night. I imagine it would be very loud, crowded and smoky. The range of drinks available at the bar is fairly good but it seems to cater for a younger trendier clientele. There was a wide range of bottled lagers and beers as well as a smaller selection of draughts. The ... Read review

Pret a Manger
Review of Pret a Manger, Marble Arch, Oxford Street, London by jfalbrektsen

Advantages: Freshly prepared food
Disadvantages: Few low-calorie or vegetarian options

...time I went to a Pret was about ten years ago in Oxford. Since, I've eaten countless meals from Pret, most time enjoying it, but sometimes wondering why I always come back for more. In spite of the name just being a euphemism for 'salad', I love their No Bread Sandwiches, particularly the one featuring the all-time winners avocado, mozzarella, pine nuts, basil and olives. Yesterday I tasted their all new Tabbouleh No Bread Sandwich for the first ...
...I have never regarded Pret as a place where I would sit down for a lunch. I suppose the atmosphere is very much attuned to the quicker lunches, where people sit down for 10-15 minutes for a bite to eat. For that purpose, the place is ok, although I personally would prefer a more intimate atmosphere. Most Prets are now open from early in the morning until 6 pm, so it is quite convenient for those who tend to work irregular hours. The best attribute ... Read review
