Stansted is the easiest airport for me to reach,and the airport that I choose to fly from ,that said I can't help but feel that they have neglected to begin your holiday from the airport.
Parking with the pink elephant is easy and fairy reasonable £18.00 for 3 days .You park the car in an off site car park and regular busses collect you from the bus stop nearest the car .You must remember where you left the car..The bus will collect you from near enough the same spot to take you back..but be ware that they will cram every passenger possible on the bus back ..which means that you end up waiting until the bus is bursting..and the driver gets a little ratty when he can't cram anyone else on.You can pay for the parking at the machines in the baggage claim hall..so keep the ticket handy .This will save time leaving the car park.We paid cash but I beleive the machine took cards.
The bus drops you off outside the main door and check in is easy to find.
Once through the gate the airport has very limited services a couple of sad looking places to eat with a limited selection of food mainly sandwiches.There are very few shops to start spending your holiday money (a WHSmiths and a Dixons I think that there was also a book shop and a samll duty free).If you are expecting Gatwick forget it..this is very disappointing in that respect. Eat before you arrive don't depend on what maybe available.
You will however get cheap flight deals from Stansted which is a plus..but with such deals it is always advisable to be at the airport very early and this airport is not designed for passengers who have a long wait ahead...take a Game boy or a good book because you will have time to read.
That said the airport is very easy to get around .its worth a try ..
