I actually work at Stanstedairport and so feel I am in a position to give an up to date apprasial of the current situation. First of all Travelling to the Airport. There are currently roadworks on the M11 just south of the Stansted Airport turn off(Junction 8)so allow yourself an extra half hour to an hour travellling time if travelling from the M11 London or from the M25. Parking at the Airport is slightly cheaper than at Gatwick or Heathrow. There is a long stay car park which is situated about 3/4 mile from junction 8(some 3 miles from the terminal. If you park there a free bus service brings you to the airport every 10 minutes. The short stay car park is situated at the front of the terminal with easy access to the building. Once inside the terminal the check in desks are directly in front of you.The information desk is situated at the far right hand corner of the terminal next to the International Arrivals. At the moment the Airport is not particuarly busy,so getting through security is not a problem.Sometimes during the summer there can be long delays getting through security(so be aware) At the moment the transit train service to the gates is being improved,so transport to the various departure gates(except domestic) is via coaches.Again allow an extra 5/10 minutes for leaving the main departure lounge to arrive at the gate. The transit train system is due to be back in operation by the end of February. Remember Stansted operates a non call system for flights. So check the flight information screens at regular intervals to check the current flight information. Remember if all else fails ASK SOMEONE.I think you will find the staff at Stansted helpful. Make sure you get to the gate in time(at least 1/2 hour before departure time).Failure to do so will result in you missing the flight or it beinf delayed. Follow these simple rules and your time at Stansted should be easy and stress free.

a very useful opinion (for me!!) I've never ben to Stansted airport as most of my flights tend to be from LHR, I am due to go to fly from Stanstead next month..and am interested in leaving my car in long stay car park, any idea whta min. charges are, or which is more secure..? anyway, a really useful opinion..its given me a feel for Stanstead should I opt for one of these "offers" again, thanks, CH.

Another good review. The addition of some paragraphing would make it easier to read, but apart from that, well done and keep up the hard work :)

I think I would have given this a VH if there was also some information about the facilities available at Stansted. But please correct me if I have done it wrong as I'm new here.
