London in general is an opinion that is not easy to tackle;the simple reason being is that London is a huge city that has everything. Where exactly do you start? I can begin by writing about the 300 places of interest and attractions of London or about it`s remarkable history but that would be writing page after page.
Therefore , I have decided to narrow it down and talk about one of the things that make London stand out from all the other cities in Europe. London is a city of ethnic diversity - the term "Londoner" embraces people of every race and creed. Throughout history, London has served as a magnet to foreign traders, has offered a place of refuge to people fleeing persecution and, as the capital of an empire which once spanned the globe, has absorbed great numbers of immigrants. The result is a multi-ethnic city where the worst excesses of racial tension are remarkably rare.
Most cities in Europe do not have this diversity of origins - making London the city of Europe. The rapid growth in London`s population is due to large-scale immigration. London has overtaken Paris,Venice,Naples,Rome and Milan as it`s population grew. Apart from the people that have settled in London there are still 25 million visitors a year from all over the world.
Wide ranges of ethnic communities have developed over the years in London`s boroughs. A number of ethnic traditions have been absorbed into London life. It has the biggest Caribbean carnival in Europe, it has London`s Chinatown, and the central Mosque in Regent`s Park is a sacred place for the Muslim religion. London would be a duller place to eat without the range of good restaurants serving Chinese and Indian dishes. Thanks to hard working Asian entrepreneurs, every neighbourhood has corner shops that are open all hours.
London is a city full of mixed cultures and traditions all into one - Its a fantastic experience as we learn to adapt,explore and embrace different races and cultures into our lives. That is what makes London so special - INTEGRATION ...
