Is anyone still around who knows me? If you are it would be great to hear from you. Leave me a message in my guest book to let me know that you are all ok and I will contact you back. It would be nice to know how everyone is doing.

Before I moved to London I didn't really know what it was like and didn't really have an bad opinion of it. I have been here over a year now and moved down here hoping that I could get into a better job and better money than what I had before.
In the year I have had about 6 jobs, a couple of them were what I wanted to do and unfortunately didn't workout for one reason or another.
I have not made any friends since I have been down here because I have changed my job so many times. I just haven't been able to settle at all living in London.
To visit fine, but actually living here is not for me.
I have always been a country girl and love the countryside and the piece and quiet and the birds singing. You never get that in London. Especially where I am living.
I live on a high road so there is always traffic and noise of the cars and sirens going no matter what time of the day it is.
There is also too many people in London for my liking and I find many of them rude, more rude than where I was brought up in Northampton.
It is also too expensive in London. My rent is not too bad for living in London and it is in relation to my salary. If I go back to Northampton where I was brought up I know that my salary will be about 12 - 13 but my rent will be at least 20 per month cheaper and my travel will probably be £20 per month cheaper so I am gonna be better off up there.
For me London is definitely a place to visit and not live, unless I had a really good job and I knew people down here and had some friends.
Now originally I came to London for 2 things. 1 was my boyfriend and one was my career. Now my career has not changed at all so I don't see the point of staying in London when I could do the same job I do now with the same salary each month or having the same left over for myself at the end of each month because my rent is less.
I am only 22 and I think to myself, why tie myself to a man so young too. He is the only thing I have had going for me for the last year. And don't get me wrong he has been great to me over the year but that 1 thing isn't good enough to make me happy.
If I won the lottery i would definitely by myself a house in the countryside and would be so, so happy living there.
When you go shopping it is always too packed to enjoy it because there are so many people crammed into a small space. London is definitely over populated and I feel that is definitely is not the place to live if you like the countryside because there isn't even any of it here.
All the criteria does not apply to this opinion so I have had to make them up.

good op, although I don't think all londoners are rude. I lived in London all my life until 2 years ago.I left because I had enough of the way of life. I now live in Lincolnshire and love it, i would never go back. Everything in London is over priced. Cheers and I do hope things get better for you.

Obviously London is not the place for you. I was brought up in London and I love it, but if you're unhappy I'd say go the minute you can. I dropped out of a uni because it was in a place I hated, so I know how you feel. Your op was so sad! x
