When my friends from overseas come to London as well as staying with me I like to give them a bit of a different tour so here's some ideas for you.
1. Buy a daily or weekly Travel card Oyster, much cheaper than paying for individual journeys all the time. 2. Get your self down to the houses of Parliament have a look round, take some pics talk to the War protesting guy who has set up camp just below Big Ben. 3. Jump on City Cruise Boat from the jetty on the river and get a return from Westminster to Greenwich (if you have a travel card you can get a discount). The tour is brilliant with the Cockney captain chatting through out the whole journey. He points out all the sights and moans about the yuppies living in the old Warehouses and points out where the last pirate was hung! The staff doesn't get paid to do this so make sure you tip when you leave. The boat has a well stocked bar on board and you can buy small snacks also (it takes about 30 minutes to get to Greenwich). 4. In Greenwich make sure you head to Goddard's Pie Shop for traditional Pie 7 Mash - it's yummy - but get there early as it gets really busy. 5. There are loads to see in Greenwich here's a small list: - The Cutty Sark - A big Tea clipper you can explore The Royal Observatory - The Meridian Line - climb the massive hill for great views over London The National Maritime Museum The Royal Naval College Greenwich Park - Great for picnics & naps in the summer Eltham Palace and The Courtauld House The Thames Barrier The Museum of Artillery at the Rotunda Arts and crafts markets (each weekend) and an amazing retro vintage store's all over the place. Normally after taking friends on this day out they are so tuckered they fall asleep on the boat trip back! On Saturday's I like to get my guests up early and head down to Borough Market for some yummy food and maybe a spot of shopping, the nearest tube is London Bridge and you can follow the hordes of Londoners to this amazing food market. I then like to take them on a short stroll down the South Bank to the Free Tate modern, which is full of amazing artwork and some pretty crazy looking stuff too. If your looking for somewhere different to go out in the evening I recommend the Ice Bar on Hendon Street (just off Regent Street) Everything in the bar is made from ice! You get special gloves and a cape to wear and can only be in the bar for 45 minutes but it's ace! I also love Cynthia's Cyber bar under London Bridge station. An actual robot will make your cocktail! For eating I would recommend Bodeans BBQ in Soho for amazing ribs, burgers & chicken wings and moderately priced for central London or Bam Bou near Tottenham Court Road for thai / Vietnam fusion food. Owned by the Caprice group its slightly more pricey but they have an amazing bar at the top of 5 flights of stairs with a huge roaring fire and lots of comfy sofas. Other things you should try are: - Horse riding in Hyde Park Roller-skating in Hyde Park Ice skating at Kew Gardens (Dec/ Jan only) Dog racing at Wimbledon or Walthamstow Ride the London Eye Saatchi Gallery Hamleys and play with the toys on display (never go when the kids are off school) Roller Disco @ Cargo, Kings Cross, on a Friday night Upper Street Pub crawl
That should keep you and your guests busy for a few days.

Great review - enjoyed reading it. If you had put the information in that lazza123 suggested then I think this would have been worthy of an 'E'. If you do decide to add some more info, leave a message in my guest book and I will re rate, Cath. x

Advantages: none Disadvantages: too expensive, too many people, too built up, too expensive to get around, hardly any country side, never any piece and quiet.

Review of London in general
Advantages: A wide range of transport available for getting around in LONDON!, Travel card cheapest way to travel... Disadvantages: Can get busy, tacky buses/trains, can get hot....
Advantages: Lots to see, lots to do, comprehensive travel deals Disadvantages: Quite expensive, you need to stick with the programme to make it worthwhile.
