If you're coming to the UK you really must visit London.
I know the northerners get all stroppy because London get's so much of the tourist's money and investment in the arts, but I'm not writing about Liverpool or Manchester..... This is cor blimey London mate.
I won't go on about all the tourist things to see and how to hail a cab, you can get all that from a guidebook.
In my opinion, if you're in London get yourself to a football match.
North London:
Tottenham Hotspur -- (White Hart Lane or Northumberland Park stations or Seven Sisters tube..... although it's quite a walk).
Arsenal -- (Highbury)..... home of the gooners.
Not quite so glamourous, you could also check out Leyton Orient or Brentford.
East London --
Come you Irons at Upton Park..... get a load of the Claret and Blue blowing pretty bubbles.... that's West Ham.
Millwall are not in the same league, but you might always get to see a good punch-up.
South London --
Well it's got to be Chelsea. The Blues. They were always blue even before they signed up half the Azzuri. Load of Foreigners..... no place in the English League for them if you ask me; especially as some of the fans are nazis.
Still it's good for a laugh. Get the tube to Sloane Square and take a walk down the the King's Road for a pre-match bevvy in the Imperial.
If you're not into laughs, go to Fulham Broadway tube station instaed.
If Chelsea are playing up north, you could try Fulham. Especially good for some giant-killing cup-games.
Wimbledon's not all about tennis..... they've got a crazy gang who run around for ninety minutes too.
Queen's Park Rangers at White City appeals to masochists. The best thing to do is to get the Evening Standard and see who's playing. You've never really been to London unless you've been to a footy match.
