I have just come back from what was almost a holiday from hell. I usually like to balance my reviews with pluses and minuses but considering this is the worst hotel it has ever been my misfortune to come across I will find it hard to write anything positive. If you are into Club 18 to 30 this hotel and drinking fighting and rioting then I highly recommend this hotel to you.

Moilinos Park is situated in Cap Salou situated some distance from the centre of Salou. Luckily there is a good regular bus service and taxi fare is under 6 euros so getting in and out of the centre is relatively cheap. There is a beach close by and some local shops. The hotel itself is situated on a hill with a reasonably nice view of the Medeterainian Sea.

This was sold to us as an all inclusive family hotel but that remains to be seen as the week we were there we got very little sleep with the noise from the bar and revellers who spilled out into the street. Our room over looked the front so we had a great view as the Gaurdia Civil was called in more than once. This was compounded by the early risers ensuring that late sleeping was not an option, maybe not so good for club 18-30.

The food was not so good and I suspect although I cannot prove it that the dangerous practice of re-heating food was going on. On one day Chilli Con Carne was served at lunch and at dinner it was covered with potato and cheese and re-served some patrons were describing it as Lasagne, Shepherds Pie or Cottage Pie. Sausages or Fish fingers re appeared later in snacks. Hot drinks i.e. coffee and tea were only available in restaurant in the morning and at the bar the rest of the day if the machine worked quite often it didn't. Cold drinks were only available in the restaurant lunch and dinner and had to be qued for as only one person served at the bar.

The drinks at the bar were served in what can only be described as kid's beakers and were nuisance as they got everywhere. They were in the corridors, in the pool and lying on the stairs. There was a fare selection of local drinks on offer and international brands if you were prepared to pay for them and were available from 10 am to 12am. It's a pity that the bar staff didn't seem to be too fussy about who they served, a number of individuals aged 14 to 15 by 12 o'clock looked more than a little tipsy.

Entertainment was sadly not up to scratch, there was very little for the kids apart from the swimming pool, the Monkey Club that never seemed to be open and was only for 4 to 7 year olds. Extremely loud and irritating music most of the day and night and a star act after 11.00pm. Lets not forget the Bingo, which must have been a lucrative earner for the entertainment staff a 4 and 5 euros. The star turns were at best mediocre and at worst a joke. In the week I was there the hypnotist who sounded as if he was commentating on a race and only managed to hypnotise 4 out of 12 to 14 subjects. The world-renowned guest hypnotist turned out to be one of the entertainment staff regulars who appeared as a famous comedian later in the week. Unfortunately neither was very funny.

Finally I come to the staff, normally I find the Spanish people a very friendly people with a very beautiful sounding language, which frequently mangle with my broad Scottish accent. Unfortunately I can only guess that either staff are under a lot of pressure at this hotel or are not well treated. Most were unhelpful and lacked any of the warm welcome that I have come to expect. Our complaints about noise food and entertainment fell on deaf ears.

I'd also like to thank Thompsons and Globspan who couldn't even supply a rep (not so much as a telephone number) so that the above problems could be discussed and resolved. Though nothing short of a move would have sufficed. Your letters are in the post.

To finish of I cannot stress this strongly enough. If you are looking for a quiet holiday where the kids have got plenty to do and the ambience is one of calm, peace and tranquillity. Then forget Molinos Park and find a park bench instead.

If having no sleep, Spanish Tummy, fighting and drinking yourself into a stupor then you'll be right at home here.
