Los Zocos, Lanzarote

Recently visited this hotel with a large group.

Very nice clean and what I would consider a very family friendly hotel. Unfortunately,we were a group of adults and sometimes found it a bit annoying to have so many kids around us, but all in all a very good experience.

We paid on average £450 a head for 7 days all inclusive, which I thought was a little expensive, but it seems this as cheap compared to others in the resort.

I had a 1 bed apartment which easily could have slept 4.

General decor was good, but I have heard from some that their rooms were being upgraded and that they had a little disruption going on in their block because of this. The living room settee folds out into a small double and the overall look of the place was clear and pleasant.

The pool (amazingly) was cleared almost every morning and the rooms were cleaned several times in a week.

I must say the food was average, but what do you expect for the price we paid? I paid £450 which included a small supplement for a single room.

Pros:

Central Costa Teguise

Plenty of shops within walking distance (2 mins), including the local supermarket for those in the selfcatering apartments.

Nice, well laid out open design. Gardens were clean and well looked after. Really nice large pool area.

Apartment is well laid out, albeit rather small. Loads of eating utensils and cups etc.

Lovely bathroom!

Cons:

No air con!

I didn't notice this in my room, but some of my group complained about a "damp feeling" in their rooms.

A hell of a lot of refurbishment going on in other blocks but didn't bother me.

Althought not in the rooms themselves, we dd see a few roaches on the outside of the building, but as I say... there was nothing in the actual room. Word of warning: someone did complain of roaches in their room whil we were there and the reps just didn't want to know (FIRST CHOICE).

The water from our tap had a distinctly dirty look to it! But I did learn this as a standard across the resort and even occasioally the whole island!

GENERAL;

Good option but shop around for the price.

Childrens entertainment is good in high season, but that depends on the travel company you use. Out of season the hotel staff lay on entertainment and a service for keeping the kids amused.

Food is ok... nothing to startling but well prepared all the same.

Costa Teguise can be a little quiet, but there is a marke weekly in the main residential area of costa teguise which is a little way inland.

Pointers:

Hire a car... after day 3 in the town we were rather bored, but car hire is really cheap and we had a good day of 2 driving round the island.

Markets are held daily at various locations across the island, so plenty to do.

Water world park is good for kids, but if your in an adult group you may find this a pain, as several children just made a complete nuisance of themselves, and were actually removed from the park! After this we had no problems.

Eat at the Boulavard Restuarant, this is the better out of the 2 on resort.

All in all and ok hotel, but would have complained if we'd paid £650 as some of those staing at the resort had.

Flight was ok... no delays, but we did go out of season.

Transfer from hotel was a let down, we had to wait for taxis as the coach didn't arrive and we hadthe same on the way back and almost missed our flight! Staff apologised, but we have heard nothing from the company by way of an apology.
