We stayed at the Louis Palazzo di zante for 2 weeks in August 2007 as a family of 4. It is in the resort of Vasilikos in south eastern zante and is situated together with its 2 sister hotels the Imperial and Royal overlooking the local beach with a lift from the Imperial down to the beach which is a godsend for those with kids. The Louis Palazzo di zante is a family orientated hotel with a venetian style canal within the complex with all the rroms overlooking it. We thought you could swim in it as others did we spoke to. When we got there we found it was a design ornamental feature only about 9 inches deep but very attractive. The room we stayed in was a family room consisting of 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and balcony. The bathroom is clean with toilet shower over the bath and basin. The 2 bedrooms have twin beds in each and the main bedroom has a tv, safe, fridge, aircon and balcony. Down side is that the second bedroom does not have aircon so you have to leave the door between the 2 open, but it is good to put the kids to bed in a separate bedroom. The balcony overlloks the canal and has a table and 4 chairs.The tv has 5 channels but only 1 english channel showing bbc world news. Rooms are a little dated, but clean, nice and ok.
Hotel is clean bright and airey. Pool is not too big and there is a very small baby ppol. Lifeguard always there and poolside bar does drinks all day. If you do go all inclusive. You can upgrade at the hotel for 22 euros per day per adult and 11 for the kids. The prices of the drinks are high so all inclusive is recommended. Pools in the other 2 hotels are larger and more noisey and the imperial has water slides. People we spoke to said the rooms at the palazzo were the best . Food. All buffet style. Full breakfast with a choice of 10 hot dishes with an omlette chef doing pancakes and eggs aswell. Cheese ,,hams, breads, yogurts fruits, cereals, all coffees, juices etc etc. Lunch all salads and cold dishes with a few hot dishes, wine and beer and juices on tap. Dinner at the palazzo with the waterfall on is a pleasure. Immense selection of foods, fruits, bread, deserts etc. Childrens meal very basic with things like fish fingers and chips, or meatbals or burgers, or chicken burgers. The resort caters mainly for families and has entertainment each night from a set of 8 young performers who also run the kids club at the beach. The kids club is good, you can leave your kids but the supervision is basic and to be truthful I would also wait with them as you never know. Kids club is from 4 to about 10 years and there is lots to do. Mini disco in the evening for the kids.
Staff friendly andhelpful. All in ll we really enjoyed our time and would go back again, but make sure you go all inclusive. Mini market there for essentials but a bit pricey. Nearest town is Argassi about 10km away and is 15 euros by taxi. Bars and clubs and restaurants but populated by the English. We would definitely go back.
