My flight between Munich & London Stanstead was great value at about £70. To get this price though you must get someone in Germany to book the ticket for you. Otherwise it's almost double this price to book from the UK.
Their baggage policy is reasonable - they allow two pieces of hand luggage and up to 70kg of luggage. I was not pleased when I was told that my classical guitar had to go in the hold despite being told I could hand it over to the stewards on the door. They did however allow me to take my guitar on board 2 times out of 4.
As for reliability 2 times out of 4 my flight was delayed by up to 2 hours. This was terribly inconvenient seeing as I was flying back to London fir a gig and I ended up being over 2 hours late. I was told at the airport in Munich that I would not get any compensation when I asked to speak to a manager/to be given a complaint slip.
The last complaint is about the food. My advice - take a packed lunch/breakfast/dinner with you or eat at the airport. To my shock, the first time I flew with Lufthansa I was given the measly choice of a 30g packet of Macadamia nuts or a chocolate biscuit. Even asking for a couple of each does not satisfy if you have been counting on the in-flight meal to refresh you.
