I had recived a invite to a wedding in the philippines,that sounded like a good excuse for a long holiday , so after a carefull chat with my boss, i searched the net for a good flight to manlia (the capital)the cheapeat flight i could find was with golf air going via the golf, but with the iraq war about to start.i decided that might not be a good idea, so the next best price was lufthansa,
so i booked, mistake, my internet travel people (not lufhansa)forgot to send me my tickets,so a eticket was quickly orderd,
At the airport the airline staff was great, they gave us all the help they could,even found my very tall friend extra leg room on our first flight,
THE conecting flight to Germany was brillant, a nice new airbus with good comfortable seats lots of leg room,well recommanded ,i wish we could have stayed on that all the way,
AT next plane from Germany to manlia was well in need of a lots of tender loving care, it was a boeing 747, and to be fair it had a lot to live up too,i had made the flight with air france the year before in a airbus, we got our own tv in the back of the seats,we could even play games on them,and it is what you need on a 16 hour flight,
but no not with lufthansa,it was like a buget charter flight, one tv screen in over the isle for about 12 people,ok this was a night flight so i decided i had sleep ,instead of getting a stiff neck looking at the tv, but where was my eye mask(air france gave me one free)no lufhansa dont have them,
they even colect the headphones before landing so they can reclycle them.plus your dont get any hand wipes,mints to freshen your breath nothing,
its good service if your traveling for just a few hours across the water but not for 16 hours, half way round the world,there was no leg room ethier,so you dont have a hope of doing any of the in flight excercises ,with air france i could cross my legs with ease ,but when i tried with this airline my legs ended up in the back of the person siting in front of me,
THE foods good .the staff do their best but are badly let down by the airline, this airline needs help.
so untill things improve i recommend you only use it for short haul flights,the price i payed wasnt cheap ethier ,around the same price as i paid on the air france flight ,for half the comfort,and half the enjoyment , you just felt like you were being used to make someone a profit, without any benifit.so all you lufhansa managers fly air france and find out how to run a real comfortable airline for the passengers .and not your pocket
