I have recently used the services of Lufthansa Airlines, I travelled from Manchester to Frankfurt, Germany, Transfered in Frankfurt and the second leg of the Journey Frankfurt to Prague, Czech Republic.

Firstly i chose this service and route due to lower costs, it was a social trip so time was not of the essence, Practically half the Price of a Direct Flight from Manchester to Prague, which was good on the pocket, more beer money. Value for Money 9/10 i must say.
Staff were pleasant enough, food free and edible, timing was well kept and the cabin appeared clean enough for my liking. Rating Overall 8/10

SO here is my Complaint .... After a lovely long weekend away, on the return journey, I arrived at Prague Airport, checked in my bags along with my friends at the same time at the desk and went on my way, however upon arrival at Manchester - My bags were not to be seen. I reported this to the Lufthansa Lost Baggage Desk, filled the relevant forms in, and off i went, Baggageless. This not being a problem as i do understand on occasions bags go missing, so i was not quarmedby this ..

A couple of days later i receive a call saying my bag has been located and that a Courier would drop the baggage off for me at work, which was fantastic, he do so, i signed (the baggage was a little bit bruised and battered, but it had returned so again, this didn't rustle my feathers), and he left.

On return to my house and opening my baggage, i have found my digital Camera and clothes taken from my bag and money (Strange as i had Czech, English Sterling and Euros in my side compartment, and Only the Sterling was taken! Hmmm)

I immediatally contacted Lufthansa to report this loss, i was advised to write a leter and to fax it to their office and they can deal with the claim. I did so there and then, left all contact details, and left it with them to deal with, the following day i called them to make sure that they had received the Fax, which they had, i was told to call back in a few weeks.

A couple of weeks passed and no contact so i called to see the progress with this claim, nothing had been done. I was then advised to call back - it should take a Further 6 weeks for them to deal with it. A further 6 weeks down the line i called again, i advised my position, what had happened to the operator whom quickly states, Oh, you can't claim for lost Cameras. There is a clause on the actual Ticket that states this.

I was scandalised! Two months on and im told this .. scandalous. Down £249.99 Camera. Discraceful! And they couldn't give a hoot.

So Here is my Warning/ Advice 1) Carry All Valuables in Hand Luggage 2) Always read the Small print on the Tickets and Thirdly Most importantly .. Check your bag before you sign for it. Dodgy Lufthansa Couriers appear to be helping themselves to the Lost and found luggage. Funny how it was just the Sterling that went missing isn't it? NO in my view.
