Advantages: Its a superb Hotel! Disadvantages: Its a long walk to the other end of town if you are not fit!
...We booked this Hotel through Crystal Italy a few weeks before we travelled . We paid approx £450 each for half board which compared with the brochure prices seemed too good to be true.
The Hotel is built on a junction and like quite a few other Hotels in Viareggio, its a very impressive building. Built on five floors, the entrance to the Hotel is through doors located on the corner at the junction of the two roads. There are four stone columns near the doors and the building itself is cream with brown shutters at the windows. At the very top of the building above the main entrance, theres an ornate semi circular facade withe the Hotels name inside. The other side of the facade on the roof, is the Hotel swimming pool, but obviously thats not visible from ground level.

Advantages: Can't think of any, sorry Disadvantages: A bit dull
...If you have read my review for non art lovers for Florence then you may realise I am not going to rave about the fantastic museums and other sites in Pisa!!
We went for a half day quick visit to Pisa from Viareggio where we were staying. We travelled by bus which was nice and easy as it drops you off directly in front of the tower attraction.
What can I say about the tower? Well it does exactly as it says in the brochure, it leans. End of that review!!
There are lots of market type stalls at the leaning tower all selling cheap tourist tat, but good to browse at.
We had lunch at one of the many pizzerias/restaurants around the tower, but this was spoilt by the hawkers that kept coming up and disturbing your eating, trying to sell their watches and pens etc. They are insistant and difficult to get rid of without resorting to rudeness...
