...opened the page at the Lunamar apartments i couldnt believe our luck, it looked absolutely lovely and at such a great price we just couldnt resist booking up straight away.

The flights both on the way out and the way back were on time, i was really impressed by this as i have flown with many different companies before and have always been delayed for atleast 30 minutes on either the way out or the way back. The ...
...and even booked my case on without charging me excess bagagge although i was slightly over the limit. Little touches like this really help make a holiday feel special and hassle free and it isnt often an airline will let you off with excess, normally they look for any opportunity they can to charge extra and make you feel that your being robbed blind before youre holiday has even begun.

Last year after Christmas me and my boyfriend were wandering around the sales in East Kilbride shopping centre when i spotted a cheap deal in the window of a thomas cook store. The deal offered was just over a grand for four adults flying to Marmaris in Turkey on the 19th of May. Excited i insisted we go inside the store and inquire about the deal offered, i thought that such a fantastic deal must be to good to be true. The shop was quiet as it was so soon after christmas and the staff were really helpful, they were probably bored stiff and just dying to make a sale. The travel agent got us to go and sit at her desk and she then brought up all of the details on her computer, luckily there were still some spaces available although she dis say it was filling up quickly (this could just have been sales patter). I asked the travel agent if it was named accomodation and she said yes it was and went off to find the brochure that had the photos of the apartments in it for me to have a good look at. She looked up the index and opened the page at the Lunamar apartments i couldnt believe our luck, it looked absolutely lovely and at such a great price we just couldnt resist booking up straight away.

ARRIVAL/EXTERNAL APPEARANCE
After the short half hour bus journey from Dalaman airport we arrived at our apartments. From the outside they looked fabulous, really clean and well maintained with fresh looking paint work and a small tidy lawned area with lovely flowers just outside of the reception, this looked really inviting and i couldn't wait to get off the bus and get inside. As the bus pulled up a member of the staff from the apartments came out to the bus to welcome everyone and directed us all towards the reception desk. We made our way inside and up to the reception desk where we were greeted by smiley welcoming staff who really couldn't have been any more helpful. We were checked it quickly and despite there being quite a few people checking in the compitent staff made light work of the que. The staff even take you to your room and insist on carrying your bags for you.

ACOMMODATION
When we opened the door to the apartment we were amazed by what we saw. I expected basic cheap holiday accomodation for the price we had paid but i couldnt have been more wrong. We walked through the door into a huge open plan living space and kitchen with a dining area. The acommodation was really large and spacious, ours was a two bedroom apartment although smaller apartments were available. One of our rooms was a twin and the other room had one double bed in it. Both of the bedrooms were really clean and tidy with clean crisp whiter than white bedding. There was also the option of using the living room to accomodate extra people as there was a sofa bed, this feature would suit a large family or group well as this meant the large apartment could sleep up to six people.
The twin room had two single beds, plenty of storage room, power points and access through patio doors to a small balcony with two patio chairs on it.
The double room featured a double bed, storage space, a dressing table with a large mirror above, power points and acess via patio doors to a larger terrace which was equipped with patio chairs and a table, this terrace wrapped around to the front of the appartments and could also be accessed via the living room.

FACILITIES
The complex was well equipped and had alot to offer with two large swimming pools and a small childrens pool, a pool side bar which served food nice food all day long at low prices and didnt shut untill the last guests called it a night, a games room which featured pool tables and an additional bar. It also has an on site gym, hairdressers at which they offer beauty treatments and mens treatments such as turkish shaves etc and a small jewellery shop at which they had lots of nice items available, i bought a couple of nice items from it and took a bracelet i had broken in to the man one day and he fixed it refusing to take any money from me for it.

STAFF
The staff were lovely and couldnt do enough for you. The staff at reception were really helpful, when we arrived at the hotel it was after 1 am and despite this the staff showed everyone individually to their rooms, offered to carry bags for us and showed us where the lights were and where everything was etc before telling us to enjoy our stay, this i simply did not expect from a 3 star plus hotel. The poolside bar had even been kept open for new guests to grab a quick drink at before calling it a night.
The morning after we arrived cleaners came to the door just as we were leaving to visit the small shop at reception for some water, when we returned to the room i couldnt believe my eyes. On the beds they had arranged flower petals into shapes of love hearts, it was a gorgeous touch and they did this several times during our stay. They even tried to argue about taking a tip from us at the end of our stay.

CLEANLINESS
The whole complex was spotless inside and out, staff were always mopping the floors, wiping the bar down and checking the pool side for empty glasses etc. The cleaners always left the room imaculate cleaning the floor and surfaces every day. On one occasion we had left the toastie maker and dishes unwashed as we were going to get some fairy liquid whilst we were out and i was some what embarassed to find that these had been washed, dried and put away whilst we had been out. Towels were changed as they were used, any wet towels were swapped for new clean towels on a daily basis and bedding was changed every other day.

OVERALL
I would strongly recomend this resort to any one considering visiting marmaris but looking for a relaxing stay as this complex is far enough away from the nightlife to offer a relaxing stay but only a ten minute bus ride to the centre of town which will cost only one lira per head, we found that it wasnt really necessary to venture into the main resort every day as there are also excellent restaraunts close to the hotel, Mustis was our favourite as the staff and food was second to none, was really reasonably priced and it really was service with a smile. The staff at the local restraunts also always gave you a complimentary nan bread type of thing to share at your table which tasted great and at Musti's we were also given beautiful plates of local fruits at the end of our meals.

ONLY DOWNSIDE
The only words of warning that i would give would be to suggest this resort may not be appropriate for older or less mobile people as the appartments are situated on a steep hill.
