Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 1 week in June 2007. We got it for £290 for the two of us self catering.
It takes about 1 and half hours from Dalaman airport to the hotel. The hotel is located in the Armutalan area at the top of a steep hill which maybe unsuitable for older people or people with disabilities. The hotel itself is quite large and has a mid sized pool with a bar and restaurant. It also has a shop located near the reception area and shops near the pool including a tattoo shop if you really want one!
The rooms are quite big. They have a kitchen area, bedroom, bathroom and living room. The balcony is huge and when we didnt go out anywhere we just sat sunbathing there as it was a total suntrap.
It is in a very peaceful location and at the bottom of the hill you will find a few restaurants and bars. We went to most of these and especially liked the Cosy Corner which was very reasonably priced for bottles of Heineken.
We did go into Marmaris a few times. You can get the dolmus down as there is a dolmus station located at the bottom of the hill near the bars but we just walked. It is a nice walk down to Marmaris and doesnt take that long to get there, maybe 20 minutes or so. As you are walking down you will pass many more restaurants. We went to Red Rose and they have lovely food and the cocktails were buy 1 get 1 free.
In Marmaris itself there are loads of restaurants and bars, some small takeaways, shops, banks and a shopping centre so you will never get bored. There is also a harbour near the beach which is quite nice to walk along in the mornings. We went down once at night to go to the Taj Mahal restaurant. They do lovely curries and overall it was a nice night. There was no entertainment or anything it was just nice and quiet. We mostly drank in Mustys on a night time just down the road from the hotel. Quite cheap in there and the bar staff are great.
The weather in June was gorgeous, we had one bad day morning where it was very overcast but by the afternoon it was sunny again.
Overall this was a brilliant holiday, would definitely return to Marmaris as we have been to Turkey a few times and love it.
